Justin Bieber Slams Grammy Awards For His 'Pop Album' Nomination: 'Feels Weird'

It's no secret that the Grammy awards have been under fire recently due to their interesting choices of who should be nominated for the prestigious music award.

Celebrities have been calling out the award show for years now, and 2020 is no different.

Now, Justin Bieber is speaking out about his nomination and why he doesn't agree with it.

As you may have seen on social media, the Grammy's are upsetting a lot of people this year.

One of the most prominent and influential artists to get snubbed from a nomination this year is The Weeknd.

His album, "After Hours" received both commercial and critical success and featured the hit songs "Blinding Lights" and "In Your Eyes."

While The Weeknd's snub was going viral, singer and songwriter Justin Bieber took to social media to clarify his Grammy nomination.

The 26-year-old, who was nominated for four Grammy Awards (including Best Pop Vocal Album), took to Instagram to address his issues with his album, Changes, being nominated as a pop album, and not as an R&B record.

"Please don’t mistake this as me being ungrateful, these are just my thoughts take em or leave em. Thank you to the people who fought for me to even have any noms," he captioned the post.

"I am very meticulous and intentional about my music. With that being said I set out to make an R&B album. Changes was and is an R&B album," he wrote to his 151 million Instagram followers.

"It is not being acknowledged as an R&B album which is very strange to me…" he continued.

"For this not to be put into that category feels weird considering from the chords to the melodies to the vocal style all the way down to the hip hop drums that were chosen it is undeniably, unmistakably an R&B album!"

"To be clear, I absolutely love pop music, it just wasn't what I set out to make this time around," he clarified.

The Grammys must have 2020 pandemic brain because NONE OF THIS MAKES SENSE!
