Feisty Grandmother Shuts Down Family's Thanksgiving Invitation With Brutal Text Message

For many families, this Thanksgiving is going to be really different. People are realizing that there are more crucial issues at hand than getting together to devour turkey.

After all, we're all still in the midst of a global pandemic, so many health officials are telling people to celebrate the holiday with their own households — no extended family get-togethers this year.

But this one story is going to make you laugh, and it comes from the most unlikely place — a feisty grandmother of all folks.

Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, health officials have strongly discouraged hosting traditional Thanksgiving celebrations this year.

Having large groups of people from different parts of the country gathering in homes is simply not safe right now. It is especially risky for older individuals who are at an increased risk of experiencing severe COVID-19 symptoms.

While most families are making the ultimate sacrifice and obeying social distancing rules, one son decided to still invite everybody over for Thanksgiving dinner.

He was the most adamant about having his elderly mother be present even though she had refused his offer.

Someone shared their recent text exchange on Twitter, and you'll never believe the response he got back from his mother.

Wowza, talking about mom being feisty here, ha, ha! I think he got schooled pretty bad. What do you think?

Apparently, Nathan's mom knows that such an idea is pretty risky, and he should have known better.

So instead of just saying a plain "no, thanks," she really laid into him and said what she meant. Way to not hold back!

Once this conversation got posted online, people were howling in laughter when they read it.

Most of them were giving props to grandma for being such a hardass and not letting her son get away with it.

Even as the son tried to convince her for a second time to reconsider, she held her ground.

At that moment, she decided to put some common sense into him by making the now-infamous response: “Good idea, Nathan. You can serve it at my funeral.” Ha, ha! She really didn't hold back.

OMG, isn't that classic or what? Let's leave it to grandma to put her foot down.

I wonder what the rest of the family thought of this exchange. That would be something to be a fly on the wall while they discuss this feisty text.

Some folks even jokingly accused Nathan of caring more about the cranberry sauce than his mother, ha, ha!

Perhaps her sauce is that special that nobody can replicate just like her. But still, she could have just sent somebody over with it.

Other folks reminisced about their own feisty grandmothers.

I bet it brought some precious memories of when they were alive and well. My own grandma was a strong woman, as well. After all, she had to put up with a lot of hard times in her lifetime.

So what do you think of this brutal response this mom gave to her son?

Was it justified, or was it a little too harsh? I've got to admit I'm impressed by her wicked sense of humor. She sounds like she doesn't take prisoners — ever.
