Mobile Wine Bars Let You Enjoy A Socially-Distanced Drink With Your Neighbors

If I'm being perfectly honest, I still don't feel 100% comfortable going anywhere right now, even if it's just a quick trip to the grocery store. So you definitely won't catch me hitting up a bar anytime soon, or popping over to a friend's house for a night of wine-fueled enjoyment.

Sure, I miss the bar atmosphere, and sure, I miss enjoying one or two (or five) glasses of the good stuff with some of my favorite people in the world. But there's still this little thing called a global pandemic going on, so I'll happily relinquish wine night if it means keeping myself and the people I love safe.

But what if you could still have drinks with people without even having to leave your own front yard? Sounds like a dream, right? Well, it's not, thanks to the Vino Mobile Bars

Affectionately known as "Vinny" and "Vito," these school buses-turned-wine trucks bring the good times right to your doorstep!

They're the first of their kind in Indiana, and they're absolutely perfect for weddings, birthday celebrations, and just about any other kind of event you could possibly need a drink at!

The company's website explains that they cater to both public and private events, which definitely has me thinking they'd even be perfect for a socially-distanced drink with your neighbors.

If you're still confused, just think food truck meets wine night, and you've got the right idea.

As Insider reported, the traveling booze buses arrive on site with a range of five to eight different kinds of wine on the list, depending on the event they're catering to.

With a courteous bartender ready to serve you, the chic "wine trucks" bring everything you could possibly need to enjoy a safe, socially-distanced drink with your neighbors. Just make sure to stay at least six feet apart from each other and let the good times roll!

While that's probably not exactly what creator Jenn Kampmeier had in mind when she started the business back in 2014, it's definitely turned out to be a COVID-friendly venture.

After all, having an entire truck pull up to your home and serve you wine through a window means not having to bump shoulders with strangers inside a bar, or break your social bubble by gathering at a friend's house for drinks.

It should be noted that it seems like this particular wine truck is exclusive to Indiana, so great news for all you Indiana folk out there — bad news for the rest of us!

Look, whether we like it or not, we're living in an age of social distancing right now, so we need to do as Bear Grylls suggests: improvise, adapt, overcome.

Thankfully there are businesses like Indiana's Vino Mobile Bar that make something as seemingly harmless as enjoying a glass of wine with someone not only a possibility in 2020, but a safe possibility.

And for that, we definitely thank them. Cheers!
