10+ Celebrities Who Got Into Physical Fights On Set

At the end of the day, actors are just normal people like you and me. They get angry, frustrated, and sometimes don't have the luxury of liking their coworkers.

Over the years, there have been some who have been brought to their boiling point. See what I mean and check out these 10+ celebrities who got into physical fights while they were on set.

Shia LaBeouf tussled down the stairs with Tom Hardy while filming *Lawless*.

Let's clear the air now and forever: Shia did not knock Tom Hardy out. What really happened is the pair were wrestling by a set of stairs.

Tom fell backward, hit his head, and told everyone that Shia had done it.

James Franco got way too method with Tyrese Gibson on the set of *Annapolis*.

James Franco is known for being a method actor, but apparently, he took things too far with Tyrese.

For their boxing scenes, Franco was supposedly relentless and kept hitting Tyrese with all of his strength until finally, Tyrese returned the blow.

Werner Herzog and Klaus Hinski nearly killed each other on five different movie sets.

When you listen to Herzog's audio recording, you really get a sense of just how truly tense things were with Klaus.

What's even more baffling is that these two made five films together. Herzog even released a documentary on their "friendship."

Sylvester Stallone got Richard Gere fired from the set of *Lords Of Flatbush*.

Richard and Sly just flat out didn't like one another. Tensions finally came to a head when Gere spilled mustard on Sly's pants.

Stallone elbowed him in the head and pushed him out of a moving car!

John Leguizamo was Aikido-chopped by Steven Seagal while filming *Executive Decision*.

Don't mess with Steven Seagal; that's a lesson John Leguizamo had to learn the hard way.

After cracking a joke at Steven's expense, John was literally karate-chopped into a wall.

Kim slapped Kourtney across the face in *Keeping Up With The Kardashians*.

There have been a handful of moments over the years where we've got to see a family fight break out among the Kardashian clan.

But Kim wasn't holding anything back this time around.

Patrick Dempsey was nearly choked-out by Isaiah Washington on the set of *Grey's Anatomy*.

ABC

This was only one of a myriad of similar events that took place while on set. After arriving late to work, an argument ensued between Dempsey and Washington.

McDreamy came very near to passing out after being choked by his costar.

Lucy Liu got physical with *Charlie's Angels* costar, Bill Murray.

I don't mean to choose sides but by all accounts, Bill Murray had this coming. You don't get the nickname "The Murricane" by being all cuddly and friendly, after all.

After this spat, Murray was dropped from the franchise.

George Clooney fought his own director on the set of *Three Kings*.

What I find most difficult to believe about the altercation between George Clooney and director David O. Russell is the fact that, for some reason, the director didn't want George in his film.

How is that possible?

Rip Torn and Dennis Hopper pulled knives on one another while making *Easy Rider*.

I've heard of some pretty heated debates between costars, but never one that involved both parties pulling knives on the other!

Torn ended up suing Hopper for defamation and won the case.

Val Kilmer and Tom Sizemore saw red on *The Red Planet*.

This was at the height of Tom Sizemore's struggles with drugs and alcohol. By all accounts, he was unbearable to work with and made everyone around him miserable.

Val had simply had enough.

Corey Haim and Corey Feldman had a kitchen brawl on the set of *The Two Coreys*.

This got intense fast! I hate it when friends fight, even more when those two best friends are two of the biggest child stars from my youth.

Both Haim and Feldman endured every Hollywood horror you could possibly imagine. I wish them nothing but the best.

Bill Murray and Chevy Chase had a full-blown fist fight on the set of *SNL*.

I could have made a list that simply involved Bill Murray incidents; the guy is not well-liked by his peers, to say the least.

Can you imagine what it must have been like to see these two comedic giants exchanging blows?!

LL Cool J knocked Jamie Foxx unconscious while filming *Any Given Sunday*.

Jamie had it coming. Apparently, he didn't like how rough LL was being with him during takes.

After one such take, Jamie punched LL in the face. But before you could say "Momma Said Knock you Out," Foxx was on the floor.

Tom Cruise and Rob Lowe came to blows on the set of *The Outsiders*.

I don't know why I find the idea of Tom Cruise and Rob Lowe fighting one another so hilarious.

I have a hard enough time picturing these two in a slap fight, let alone a full-out brawl.

Norman Mailer and Rip Torn have an infamous improvised fight scene in *Maidstone*.

Rip Torn was known to lose himself in violent scenes. He came at Norman Mailer with a prop hammer and twice hit him hard over the head.

Norman, in turn, wound up biting Rip's ear.

Bryan Cranston and John Leguizamo took things too far in *The Infiltrator*.

Each of the lead actors ended up getting in their own separate fight.

Bryan ad-libbed shoving an actor's face into a cake, and Leguizamo ended up putting a powerful headlock on Juan Cely.

Debra Winger and Shirley MacLaine scuffled while filming *Terms Of Endearment*.

Debra Winger and Shirley MacLaine fought like cats and dogs. They despised one another from the very moment they met.

Their feud became physical after Winger deliberately broke wind in MacLaine's face while she was filming a scene.

Richard Pryor pulled a gun on his director in *Blue Collar*.

According to all accounts, Richard Pryor was a [expletive] to boot. On every film he ever worked on, Richard was sure to start problems with someone.

Apparently, the reason why he pulled the gun was that he was asked to do too many takes.

Shia LaBeouf and Brad Pitt fought on an almost daily basis while filming *Fury*.

David Ayer is one of the most demanding directors currently working. In order to help his cast bond, he would pit them against one another in a daily fistfight.

Shia has said that while at times it could be incredibly tense and uncomfortable, in the end, it brought them closer together.

Jim Carrey went way too method with Jerry Lawler in *Man On The Moon*.

Man on the Moon is one of Jim Carrey's greatest films but if you haven't seen the documentary, Jim & Andy: The Great Beyond, you're missing out on a huge chunk of the story.

Jim went full method and was unbearable to work with. He threw eggs at Jerry Lawler and even spit in his face.

Wanderlei Silva and Chael Sonnen let their fists fly on the set of *The Ultimate Fighter*.

You might not think it odd to learn that Chael and Wanderlei came to blows, they are professional fighters after all.

But what they did wasn't professional. It was a street fight, pure and simple.

Thomas Gibson was fired from *Criminal Minds* after kicking one of the writers.

CBS

Thomas Gibson was known for his temper on the set of Criminal Minds. One day, when he was in an especially heated rage, he lost his temper and kicked one of the writers on set.

It wound up being the straw that broke the camel's back, and Gibson was fired shortly after.

Shannen Doherty and Jennie Garth brawled on the set of *Beverly Hills, 90210*. .

CBS

Shannen and Jennie's disdain for one another built like a pressure cooker until one day it exploded.

They began tearing at one another and needed to be separated by the crew. Thankfully, they've since resolved their differences.

Bette Davis hit Joan Crawford so hard that she needed stiches in *Whatever Happened To Baby Jane?*

The scene was scripted, but by no means was Bette supposed to hit Joan with so much force.

According to Bette, she claims to have hardly touched Joan at all.

Johnny Depp came to blows with the location manager of *City Of Lies*.

A man by the name of Greg "Rocky" Brooks alleges that Depp was intoxicated. When he tried to explain to Johnny that their filming permit had expired for the day, Depp became irate and reportedly popped him in the mouth.

Cardi B and Asia Davies nearly killed each other during a reunion episode of *Love & Hip Hop*.

If we've learned anything about Cardi B, it's that she isn't one to be trifled with.

Out of nowhere, Cardi took off her six-inch stilleto heel and hurled it with all the force of a Major League pitcher at Asia's chest.

Jerry Lawler slapped Andy Kaufman across the face on *Late Night With David Letterman*.

Here's the exact same scene that Jim Carrey and Jerry Lawler recreated for Man on the Moon. That's right, it really happened.

In later years, the feud between Andy and Jerry would be revealed as a gag, but that slap was 100% genuine.

Porsha Williams pulled Kenya Williams across the floor by her hair during a reunion episode for *The Real House Wives Of Atlanta*.

I don't advocate anyone being dragged across the room by their hair.

But at the same time, I fully believe that if you have the gall to start screaming into a megaphone while you're sitting on a couch with someone, you deserve what's coming to you.

Nicolette Sheridan claims she was assaulted by her boss while filming *Desperate Housewives*.

ABC

Nicolette alleges that she was struck in the head. According to the former Desperate Housewives star, it was this filing of a report that got her killed-off from the show.

Faye Dunaway is rumored to have thrown a cup of her own urine at *Chinatown* director, Roman Polanksi.

Roman Polanksi was known for being eccentric, and at times even borderline psychotic. He reportedly wouldn't allow Faye Dunaway to take bathroom breaks while they were filming Chinatown.

Her response to this affront was to throw a cup of urine at him. Poetic, isn't it?
