'Little House On The Prairie' Reboot Officially In The Works

I am so here for this!

2020 has given me a new perspective on many things, but one thing it's really highlighted for me is how much I'd love to leave the city and go live on a farm somewhere where there's nobody around to annoy me or, like, breathe germs in my general direction.

It looks like I'll be getting to live that dream out vicariously through the Ingalls family yet again!

We live in the age of reboots and remakes.

Having original ideas is hard, and rebooting stuff is easy, so I get the appeal. While I love a good sequel or prequel or remake as much as everyone else (which is to say, increasingly less), I can't help but wonder who decides what gets remade and when, because there are some fantastic shows out there that have just been begging for another go round.

*Little House On The Prairie* was an AMAZING show.

The show followed Laura Ingalls and her family's life on a farm in the 1800s, and was truly one of the most heartwarming and wonderful shows, like, ever!

The show aired from 1974 to 1983, and reruns are still broadcasting in 30 countries.

Despite the obvious interest in the series, there haven't been a lot of attempts to reboot it until now.

You'd think that somewhere after the 83rd reboot-remake-reinterpretation-whatever of Little Women, some thought would be spared to another Little period piece, but it somehow took until 2020 for that to register to whoever's in charge of these things!

Well, it's finally happening!

Entertainment Weekly has learned that the beloved show will be adapted by Paramount TV Studios into a one-hour long adaptation.

How can you cram all that content into one hour?! I can't wait to see this.

Obviously, a lot of fans are excited.

I might have to figure out how to work one of these streaming services to be able to get my eyes on Half Pint and her family again!

I might have to call my children to get them to help me do it, but I can make it happen if I'm determined enough!

How about you?

Are you excited for the return to the Little House? Or would you rather just watch the original — after all, if it ain't broke, don't fix it!
