Trump Tweets Promise Of 'Wild' Protest Planned For January 6

On December 14, 2020, the Electoral College cast its votes and once again declared Joe Biden the President-Elect of the United States.

This is another milestone in an incredibly dramatic election, which saw Biden collect 306 electoral college votes compared to Trump's 232. This matches the number Trump won in 2016 against Hillary Clinton, which at the time he called a "landslide victory."

However, his stance has changed considerably now that he's in Clinton's shoes.

The next big milestone date in the election process is January 6, 2021, when the Electoral College votes are officially counted by Congress.

In a tweet sent in the early hours of December 19, Trump announced a plan for a big protest in Washington, D.C. that same day, saying, "Be there, will be wild!"

The tweet also includes a link to a recent 36-page report put together by Peter Navarro.

The report gathers together all the various allegations of voter fraud that have been presented by the Trump Administration and its lawyers since the election results first began to favor Biden.

However, many experts and media outlets have pointed out that the report provides no further evidence to back those claims, most of which have been debunked and deemed non-admissible by many jurisdictions.

It is also important to note that Navarro is neither unbiased nor an expert in elections.

Navarro is an economist by trade and a high-ranking adviser in the White House. He currently acts as the Assistant to the President, the Director of Trade and Manufacturing Policy, and the National Defense Production Act Policy Coordinator.

January 6 isn't the only day Trump has planned large rallies for.

He's previously announced a January 4 rally in Georgia to support Republican senate candidates David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler before the runoff election on January 5.

Unfortunately for Trump and his allies, there is very little a protest can do to stop Congress from finalizing the Electoral College count in Biden's favor.
