'5G Chip' Schematics Shared By Conspiracy Theorists Actually For Guitar Pedal

There is a rumor floating around that the COVID-19 vaccine contains a 5G chip inside. You can even go online and find circuitry diagrams of the supposed device. This might sound kind of scary and a little ridiculous. But rest assured, it is just plain ridiculous. It turns out that these conspiracy theorists were pretty lazy when they created the hoax and music techs quickly recognized the image.

Mario Fusco, a project lead at RedHat, recognized the diagram.

The diagram of the supposed chip is actually the diagram of reworked schematic for a Boss Metal Zone pedal. Fusco flagged the misinformation on Twitter and posted his evidence. In the thread, Russell England posted an image of a real tracking device used in pets for reference.

Boss Metal Zone pedals are popular among beginner guitar players.

The pedal is known for creating a high gain distortion sound. This has led to Craig Cowling to make this puntastic joke on Twitter: “I bet when they found out they were all, 'Wah! Wah!'”

Since the hoax has been exposed many people have weighed in.

Tim Green, a professor of Electrical Engineering, pointed out that the technology in the diagram is too old to be 5G. He tweeted: “Reassured to know that 5G relies on op-amps and some 1n4148 diodes. Proper old school. None of that digital and microprocessor nonsense.”

The hoaxers claim that Bill Gates masterminded it all.

Believers think that COVID-19 was actually caused by 5G networks. The vaccine is supposedly the next step. They believe that vaccines are a cover to mask implanting the chips. The chips, of course, will be used to control and track people. Yeah. The theory is so ridiculous, that it is hard to believe anyone would believe it.
