Hawks are birds of prey that are used to being top of their food chain. When they're around, small animals duck and cover, while other bird species get the hell out of there.
Being incredible hunters, hawks can usually spot and grab at least one poorly-hidden morsel for their dinner.
Little did they know, this "duck" wasn't going to bat an eye at the dangerous predator.
Because, you see, this duck was made of wood.
For a couple of minutes, it attempted to intimidate the duck, but the duck's lack of reaction clearly began to confuse the hell out of the poor hawk.
It reached out with its talons from multiple angles, trying to provoke a reaction, with the occasional pause to stare out at the world with the universal expression of "WTF is going on?"
Something about those fluffy "pants" delights me to no end and completely ruins what's left of the poor bird's scary, apex predator vibe.
For just over two minutes, the camera stays on the hawk as it gets more and more confused by the upending of its expectations.
Finally, it gives up and the "duck" wins the battle of wills, leaving us with just a delightful bit of video to enjoy.
