18+ Unusual Sights That Came Out Of Nowhere

While we can often trace a lot of the problems in our lives to decisions we either made or should have made, it's also true that things can just happen sometimes.

And while the world's little surprises aren't always welcome, some of them don't necessarily affect our lives at all. Nonetheless, even the smaller unexpected happenings can change what we thought was possible.

And thanks to some quick-acting photographers, we now have a chance to see some of the stranger ones in action.

The bizarre look of this photo has very little to do with the lighting in the room.

Instead, we can see that the camera taking this photo partially captured someone else's flash in the shot, which ended up making half of the picture much lighter than the other side.

And since the person on the left seems to have summoned a ball of energy in their hands, it's not hard to guess whose flash made this happen.

Some fortune cookies may be disappointing but this is the first one I've seen that seems to herald a misfortune.

Considering how rough things have already been over the last year, the last thing anyone wants to hear right now is, "Your problem just got bigger."

It's with a weary heart that I say, "You'll have to be more specific."

Although this seems like a lot of people's worst nightmare coming true, we can at least take solace in the fact that this tree branch didn't hurt anybody.

I'm not sure we're likely to ever see another one punch through a car while completely missing the windshield quite like this, though.

Unless this bird is showing off, I'm guessing it's just as surprised by its predicament as we are.

I'm no expert on bird anatomy so I can't help but wonder whether this is their equivalent of doing the splits or whether this is a more normal stance than I realize.

A lot can happen when you forget to close the door while you're taking the trash out, but this probably didn't rank high on the uploader's list of expected outcomes.

If you're wondering what we're looking at, it seems that a 551 pound mule deer decided to move in during the few minutes that the photographer spent outside.

Make yourself at home, I guess.

It's hard to get too mad at this dog since there's a non zero chance some of us had the same idea when we were kids.

But while playing with the sprinkler looks just as fun for the dog when it's inside the house, the same can't be said for the owner.

This would be a pretty sizable icicle even in notoriously cold places like northern Canada or Russia, but this staggering sight actually comes to us from Spain.

And while I consider myself fairly tall, this massive ice formation easily dwarfs me at 8'2''. With that in mind, I'm not sure I'd stand so close to it.

It's worth noting that each of the knobs on this stove were painted in the colors that this rainbow draped over them.

But even if that would indicate that the rainbow has come through the window in the exact same way more than once, it's still pretty amazing that this home is in the exact right position for that to happen.

While this technically happened due to someone's actions, it's not likely that they'd be able to repeat it.

So what are we looking at, here? Somehow, they managed to stack two balls on top of one another and keep them in place.

If that doesn't seem that impressive, try it right now and see how easy it really is.

When this person was putting a puzzle together, they thought the natural landscape they were making was a lot sandier than it appeared on the box.

However, it turns out that the pieces only appeared that way because the uploader was putting them together backwards.

It turns out that not every company just puts blank cardboard on the back of these things.

If you use this claw machine, there's a chance that you'll end up with whatever is in that brown paper bag.

Your guess is as good as mine when it comes to what's in there but I honestly wouldn't be surprised if it just turned out to be the maintenance worker's forgotten lunch.

When this person was out walking, they came across a tree with a trunk in an odd spiral pattern.

But while the results are certainly unusual, it's actually not that hard to figure out what was responsible for this look.

If a vine wraps around a tree while it's growing, it will then restrict that growth to accommodate its stranglehold.

We've already seen that critters will jump at the chance to enter any door we leave open but there's an especially good reason to keep your doors locked in parts of South Africa.

As we can see here, the fact that the uploader did so is the only reason that their house wasn't overrun by lions at the time that they took this.

They seem a little harder to get rid of than a deer.

Even after catching sight of the weird goings-on we've seen so far, it's still easy to underestimate how quickly things can go south for us.

After all, this person only left their tea unattended for a minute to water their plants. In that time, a bee apparently dived into it and spoiled the whole thing.

While it sounds nice to get some free honey, I guarantee this isn't the way anyone would want to receive it.

Not only is it hard to put it in a container when it's just dripping from your outlets, but I doubt that's terribly goods for the house's electrical system either.

Oh and I suppose there's the slight matter of the fact that the walls would have to be almost literally full of bees for this to happen.

Determination seems to be a trait that's possible in any kind of life form this planet has to offer.

We might have already observed it in people and in animals, but what other word can we use to describe a tree that managed to keep growing after it fell over?

I didn't even know they could do that.

A lot of household accidents can cause messy problems but in this case, it's like this house is being attacked by The Thing.

I guess that's one way to make put this explosion of foam insulation into perspective.

It may kind of suck, but at least it's not an invasion by alien life forms that can assume our forms and mimic us exactly.

It's pretty hard not to look at this and suspect that this bird statue has come to life but it's all one big coincidence.

Apparently, this caterpillar figured that the perfect place to make its cocoon was to dangle from the beak of this iron statue.

And if it makes it to the butterfly stage, I guess that makes it smarter than any of its predators.

This is basically the only context in which a leaf falling on a car is actually worth mentioning.

And as we can see, that's because the leaf happened to be the exact same color as the car it fell on. If it weren't for that little stem, we might not even know it was there.

While it seems like this person hard an enjoyable snack, there was something else in there that they didn't bargain for.

The problem isn't just that the chip fragment in the middle was made from a raw potato, as it may appear. No, it turns out that it's actually not made from a potato at all.

Instead, it seems to be a plastic mold that was mixed in with the real chips. At least they'll probably get some free stuff from the company thanks to this little incident.
