People Online Praise DIYer's Unconventional Yarn Hack

I have to admit something to you — I suck at knitting. I've tried it before, but I could never quite get the hang of it. Having said that, I love knitted items. They're so personable.

So the art of knitting isn't lost on me. If you're an avid knitter, I wonder if you heard of this neat hack? Check it out!

So I have a question for all of you knitters, where do you keep your yarn when you knit?

Does it just sit beside you? Do you put it on the floor? What do you do? Wait until you see this cool trick.

One Facebook user shared a photo of a toilet paper stand that she uses to hold her yarn.

Isn't that such a handy idea or what? I mean, when you look at it, it just makes perfect sense. Don't you think so, too?

User Tammy Kernyo originally shared the photo, but it has gone viral since being reposted by popular pages like Kitchen Fun With My 3 Sons.

Have you ever heard of anything like that?

I don't knit or crochet, so I wouldn't have thought of that. I have to admit though, that I find that idea quite genius. It's like a perfect little stand, ha, ha! I love it.

Apparently, Tammy's son had some thoughts about this hack.

"My son finds it hilarious that I use a toilet paper stand to hold my thread. Surely I'm not the only one who does this? It's the perfect height, keeps it neat, and unrolls nicely! At least I bought a classy looking one!" she wrote on Facebook.

At least she has a sense of humor about it!

As it turns out, I'm not the only one who found this idea brilliant.

A lot of people who commented on this post voiced their amazement, too. They were surprised that somebody would use a toilet paper stand for that purpose.

Other people have also commented about similar gizmos they tried to hold the yarn.

Some of them worked better than others. So they were thrilled that this lady found such a great solution, which seems to work like a charm.

Apparently, there are other apparatuses people use to hold their yarn.

You can even buy a few of them online. For example, here's a special bowl with an opening that is available for purchase on Etsy. I think it's a cute idea.

And check this out: This person used a fruit bowl with a banana hanger to hold their yarn.

Oh my goodness, how cool is that? I have to admit I equally dig this idea. How inventive is that, huh?

This person used the stick from their noodle drying rack as their yarn holder.

It looks pretty useful and perfect to me, too. How about using a paper towel holder? I can see it working out. What about you?

Who knew there were so many different and creative ideas for someone to spool their yarn?

I certainly didn't know that. What about you? Is your mind blown or what? It's so cool to see people be so creative and inventive with their ideas, no?
