15+ Unusual Pics That We Know Must Have A Wild Story Behind Them

Whether it's sad, scary, or tells us something we never would have imagined, one of the great things about life is that everybody has a story that can hold us in rapt attention.

Even if most of the stories you hear from someone are boring, it just takes one spark of curiosity to ask the right question and reveal something about them that they somehow didn't think was worth mentioning.

And while that's very true of people, it can also apply to a whole lot of the thousands of pictures that people upload to the internet every day.

Some of the images we're about to see have clear backstories and some are a lot more mysterious, but it's still clear that they all have something going on behind the scenes.

Not to worry, we're not looking at a truck decorated with mounted dog heads. All these pups are alive and well.

This may be a familiar sight if you have a certain hobby but the rest of you may be interested to know that this is how they transport sled dogs.

And amazingly, this isn't even supposed to be a particularly large team of them. As for why they're separated like this, they're apparently prone to fighting if they share the same unsupervised space.

You may be wondering why we're looking at a picture of a random clump of snow.

But what seems like an unremarkable lump is actually an unlikely symbol of endurance.

That's because we're looking at the stubborn remnants of a snowman that managed to keep from completely melting despite being stuck in temperatures above freezing for multiple days.

All I can hope is that this van is owned by a very dedicated *Resident Evil* fan.

Because if it turns out that somebody is crazy enough to establish the Umbrella Corporation for real, things are about to get even harder than they already are.

After the year we've had, the last thing we need is a zombie apocalypse.

I can only imagine how numerous and intense the customer complaints were if someone felt compelled to make this warning.

Let's just say there are way too many instances of someone writing in all caps with giant red letters and underlines for whoever wrote this to be anywhere but at the end of their rope.

So please don't wash this thing with water because I don't think they'll be able to take it if another person does that.

Sometimes the real question isn't what somebody is doing but why they're doing it.

After all, I can see that this person is standing firm and blasting what are likely some righteous tunes.

I'm just not sure why they went to the trouble of ripping out a car's entire dashboard to do that.

While someone was out cross country skiing, they were startled by this bizarre sight.

Apparently, it's actually not that uncommon for tree tops to land like this when the winds get strong enough. But regardless of how rare it is, it's a potentially deadly hazard for skiers who can be speared by the exposed wood.

It's a little hard to see this mounted deer head clearly but you're going to have to trust me when I say you don't want a better view of what it looks like.

That's because the uploader's neighbor has apparently left it to rot for years and it's only getting gnarlier as time passes.

As for why they did that instead of keeping it indoors like most people, I suppose you'd just have to ask them.

As much as I'd like to say that this was somebody's elaborate prank, the truth is a little less fun.

It turns out that the only thing wind storms like more than making life difficult for skiers is throwing trampolines at whatever seems mostly likely to utterly destroy them.

I'm not exactly sure what's happening here but I think it's pretty clear which one of these guys is the most comfortable with it.

Because if the sunglasses and the pizza didn't make him look enough like a boss, that confident stance definitely does.

And wait, is he wearing a necklace with his own face on it?

There's something pretty rad about this hay sculpture but it's also likely to cause a bit of confusion.

The level of skill and effort that went into this is obvious but the identity of the buck-toothed creature riding the motorcycle probably isn't for those outside of Germany.

This is Werner, the star of a popular series of comic books over there. I guess that makes this very elaborate fanart, then.

This cake looks pretty nicely decorated, which makes it pretty hard to tell why it's just sitting in the middle of a park.

And before you ask, the uploader's just as stumped as we are. I could understand if it was laying face-down or something but it seems pretty clear that it was deliberately placed here.

So unless someone was laying a trap or Homer Simpson or whoever, it beats me as to why they let a perfectly good cake go to waste.

The uploader's mom was trying to be helpful when she brought them what she apparently thought were dumbbells from the basement.

However, it turns out that they're actually old hand grenades manufactured in the Soviet Union.

So not only does this person need to find someone to safely dispose of them but they're likely full of questions as to how these ended up in their mom's basement.

Yeah, I can't say I would have expected to see a couch on some power lines today either.

And as for how it got there, the only guess that makes any sense to me is that someone didn't feel like pivoting down their stairs a bunch of times while moving and took a risk instead.

When you gamble, you eventually lose.

Although most of us don't usually get a chicken's humerus bone with our drive-thru order, that seems like one of the only places where that would even be an accidental possibility.

Naturally, that made it all the more confusing when the uploader discovered it in the box for an Ikea dining room table.

Is there some bizarre step to making their furniture that we don't know about?

I would imagine this is a fairly straightforward book about knitting but the cover certainly doesn't give that impression.

Not only is there something vaguely creepy about the way these people are standing around but I can't help but wonder why the one with the gray ski mask is poking that pie.

I'm not sure this is going to work as well as this person obviously hopes it will.

It's likely that this fuel tank is intended for a farm but there has to be both an easier and cheaper way to fill it than using pumps number one, two and three.

Actually, it looks like they tried to get pump number four in on the action as well, but just left it dangling when it didn't fit.

Apparently, this was the picture this woman used for her profile on a Russian dating site.

And while it's certainly a way to stand out, it just makes me curious to hear how she managed to get this monster on the boat.

This is more the sign of an interesting fact than a weird backstory but you might notice something if you spend enough time in Australia.

Namely, that you're likely to see a lot more of these liberty swings intended for children in wheelchairs than you are in other regions.

According to the Australian Broadcasting Company, that's because these devices are actually an Australian invention and have been installed in playgrounds there since the year 2000.

Now we know who to thank for these.

With this image, the uploader wanted to call attention to "this statue in the woods in the middle of nowhere."

And unless this forest is in either Greece or Italy, I'm not sure we'll ever truly know who put it here or why.

You can see a lot of things in Walmart but they're not usually this cute and unusual at the same time.

But rather than wonder why there's a possum here, I'm more interested in knowing how this man got it to be his buddy.
