Yes, Joe Biden's first days in office are very important and he's doing very important things for the country, but there is a rather large contingent of Americans who have been waiting patiently for a very important moment: the arrival of the First Dogs at the White House.
First Dogs, Major And Champ, Officially Move Into The White House
Donald Trump was the first president in 100 years to not have a pet in the White House, so animal-lovers were parched for wholesome First Pet content for four years.
We knew that the Bidens would be bringing their German Shepherds, Champ and Major with them, but it wasn't clear when the pair of pooches would make the transition.
The First Family wanted to get settled into the White House before bringing the dogs from their home in Wilmington, Delaware.
On Sunday, January 24, they finally arrived.
Honestly? I give the Bidens credit for making it four days without their pups. It would feel like forever to me.
A spokesperson for Dr. Jill Biden said that the dogs are settling in happily. "Champ is enjoying his new dog bed by the fireplace and Major loved running around on the South Lawn," she said.
In fact, it didn't take long for them to make their excitement known.
While Biden finished up signing an executive order in the Oval Office on Monday, they could be heard barking happily outside.
The Bidens have also said that they intend to add a cat to their furry family.
It's still not clear when they intend to do so, however.
Still, if the popularity of Major and Champ is any indication, a White House cat might just break the internet.
