Charity Transforms Empty Parking Lots Into Pop-Up Homeless Shelters At Night

Homelessness continues to be one of the most prevalent problems in society, especially when it comes to those people without homes finding safe places to sleep at night.

One charity decided to use areas around the city that are usually empty during the evening to create safe pop-up shelters for anyone in need.

Beddown is turning empty public areas into quality shelters.

The Australian charity organization known as Beddown responded to the alarming problem that homeless people were facing when it came to finding safe places to rest their heads at night.

Recognizing that certain areas of cities go unused in the evenings, they began by converting empty parking lots into shelters, and it has certainly made a tremendous difference in the lives of many people.

They offer beds in safe and secure areas.

Sleep is such an important part of a healthy lifestyle, but when people can't access places for rest, they may feel depressed or even physically ill.

Beddown understands the need for sleep resources, so they provide comfortable beds and pillows to ensure that people in need could sleep peacefully.

There were even additional resources.

Realizing that the struggles that homeless communities experience extend beyond just needing safe beds, this charity provides access to doctors, dentists, and even hair stylists so they can look and feel their best.

Beddown also provides individuals in need with social services and clean clothing. The goal is to make any parking lot act like a fully functional shelter that provides people the care that they need.

This is an example that many need to follow.

Beddown is determined to continue expanding and providing as many people as possible with safe places to sleep and as many services as they need to live healthy lives without fear.

However, they are always in need of community partners and volunteers to help their work continue and expand.
