How often have assumptions gotten people into trouble? So many times, it's impossible to count.
It's always dangerous to assume you know another person's intelligence, worth, or attitude without getting to know them a bit one-on-one. Not only can it be insulting to that person, it can cause you a ton of embarrassment, if you're lucky.
One man's viral Facebook post is showing that is more true than ever.
But Emmit wasn't about to just take it without clapping back!
And yes, Emmit was flying first class, not that it was any of her business anyway.
What she said next is hard to fathom. "Yes... now excuse me they will call ya'll after we board." But if she thought Emmit would just stand aside and let her through, she had a surprise coming.
Emmit then put the priority boarding pass in her face and told her, "you can relax ma'am I'm in the right spot, been here longer, so you can board after me." He wasn't about to budge from his spot in line, and why should he? He didn't do anything wrong here.
And this raises another question — should military have to wait for other people to board first, even if they have priority passes? What's up with that?
And the airport waiting area loved it.
And apparently it's more common than it has any right to be.
On Facebook, folks rejoiced at Emmit's story, even though many could relate to the experience.
Anger would have been understandable, for sure, but he just served up a little education instead.
