Remember when your grandparents used to buy you little porcelain figurines for your birthday, but instead of playing with them, you'd have to watch in agony as your parents put them in a glass cabinet in your dining room?
I feel like this was a universal experience.
We never really took them seriously, and the figurines joined our collection of Disney VCR tapes and Strawberry Shortcake dolls in the attic, never to be seen again.
Or so we thought...
Well, some of them anyway.
Today reported that the figurines from the "Original 21 Collection" released in 1979 are now considered vintage, and could be worth up to $750.00 each.
It's a little blonde girl with a wheelbarrow full of puppies.
Though the piece originally sold for around $15, people on Ebay are bidding into the high hundreds and even thousands for it.
However, it is important that you figure out how old your figurines are before you start trying to sell them.
Not all Precious Moments figurines are worth the same, and certain pieces have been remade through the years, which would lessen their value.
Paul Burton, a spokesperson for Woolvey Fine Antiques & Collectibles, recommended that people should "dust their figurines with a makeup brush and wash them gently with mild, soapy water if necessary, but be careful not to get any water inside."
And start hoarding all your childhood keepsakes, because you never know what could be worth money some day.
