The Story Of How Jason Momoa Got His Scar Is Truly Wild

Staring at Jason Momoa's face is one of my favorite past times, and I'm sure many of you can relate to that.

His obvious beauty is hard not to stare at.

While memorizing the details of Jason's face, you may have noticed the cut through his left eyebrow.

This is the story of how it came to be.

Truth be told, the distinct cut in Jason's left eyebrow is not there as a fashion statement.

While some people like to purposefully shave lines in their eyebrows to look cool or whatever, Jason's is 100% authentic.

So authentic, in fact, that it cost him 140 stitches to repair.

140 stitches and the lifelong inability to grow hair in that one part of his eyebrow.

The story behind the scar is fascinating, and frankly, quite brutal.

It did not happen while filming an epic scene in Game Of Thrones, unfortunately.

No — the memory of this scar is much less pleasant.

If you can believe it, it largely involves a pint of beer — something many believe solves problems rather than causing them.

There are a lot of things that a pint of beer can fix. But turns out, it can cause quite a bit of damage if used the wrong way.

In 2008, Jason was at a bar called the Bird Cafe in Los Angeles, when suddenly, things went horribly wrong.

An argument was sparked between him and another man, and things got heated.

It all came to a boiling point when the other man smashed his pint glass over Jason's head — causing the cut in his eyebrow.

The man, 21, was charged for assault with a deadly weapon.

He pleaded not guilty.

The assailant did not get off scot-free however. He sustained an injury that called for 15 stitches.

"In every bar fight, there's a minimum of two or three explanations about the events, and this is no exception," his attorney said.

The assault was not taken lightly in court.

The assailant was to be trialed and could have been facing up to seven years in jail.

Surprisingly, Jason was not all that bitter about the encounter. He actually likes his scar.

He explained to the New York Post that his scar gave him an edgier, tougher look that he was enjoying.

“I got called ‘pretty boy’ my whole life,” Jason said.

If anything, it’s like, ‘Good,’" he said about his scar. "It’s not my thing now.”

If he thinks he's any less pretty just because he has a scar on his eyebrow, he is sadly mistaken, amirite?

His scar is a huge part of his identity, at this point. He wouldn't be Jason Momoa, world's sexiest man, without his famous eyebrow scar.

This fan compared him to being the real-life version of Scar from The Lion King.

I can never unsee this.

This fan tweeted, hilariously admitting that her entire sexuality is Jason's scar.

There's honestly no better way to say it. If I could retweet this a million times, I would.

Other fans think that Jason's scar is what "made him".

They explained that, sure, he was cute before his scar existed. But it brought him to a whole other level of hotness.

Some people are even considering giving themselves an eyebrow scar in an attempt to be more like Jason.

I can't say I blame them.

You either want Jason Momoa, or you want to be like Jason Momoa. There's no in between.

Anyways, that's the story of how Jason's eyebrow scar made its way onto his face and into our hearts.

Beauty is pain, amirite?
