10+ Movies From The ‘90s That Were Pretty Disturbing

This kid was... he was something.

I guess his issues are in the name of the movie, but the most disturbing thing he did was becoming pen pals with a serial killer.

I don't remember this movie, but the title alone is bad enough.

It's about five kids whose summer-long babysitter dies, and instead of telling anyone they just dump her body. Yeesh!

Oh yes, this spawn of Satan makes two appearances on this list. In this movie, Junior (the evil child from the first one) meets Trixie, a girl just a devious as he is.

Can you say horrors inbound?

I remember this awful, awful movie. It's about this kid who cashes this check for a million dollars, stealing a whole bunch of money from this poor millionaire.

He does all sorts of wacky things with it, but that doesn't excuse what he did.

Alright, alright I get it! This one was deliberately disturbing!

However, the fact that the two kids Wednesday and Pugsley are trying to harm an infant is pretty darn disturbing, whether it's intentional or not.

I know there's a lot of movies where pigs and other animals talk but... that's supposed to be food, people.

If we develop attachments to them then how are we supposed to eat them?

One scene comes to mind when I think of The Hunchback of Notre Dame and disturbing, and that's the "Hellfire" scene.

The villain song of the movie, it's got religious imagery, a bunch of hooded figures descending on our antagonist and the word "Hell".

Hate to harp on Disney here, but they did a lot of disturbing stuff.

The dad getting trampled to death springs to mind, the whole "Be Prepared" number referencing Nazis springs too.

Macaulay Culkin is... evil? This one was like a mixture of The Omen and that one movie Orphan, except with a lot of kids trying to murder each other.

Well, one trying to murder the other.

What I find most disturbing about this movie is that they lose Kevin McCalister not once, but twice.

And then there's the scene where he records his uncle in the shower. Gross.

Blackmail, lying to parents and all sorts of other horrible stuff is crammed into this movie.

Seriously, I know we're not supposed to assume every movie should teach a good moral, but it's disturbing how bad this one is.

The whole movie starts off with the coach trying to get out of a DUI. A DUI! In a Disney movie!

Anyways, through penalties and flops, they do a bunch of weird stuff in this movie.

I remember this movie. While it was definitely funny (Ben Stiller is a gem) it was certainly disturbing on both sides.

Ben for his ruthlessness, and the fat kids for their own.

This 1996 movie is about a kid who can't take his parent's divorce, so he locks them in the basement until they kiss and makeup.

There's more, but you have to see it to believe it. Wow, talk about a nightmare kid.

Aha! An animated movie that's not Disney!

This movie's most disturbing character comes in the form of Rasputin, whose body parts are constantly falling apart. Yikes!

Sure, Casper might be a friendly ghost, but his uncles Stretch, Stinkie, and Fatso sure as heck weren't.

They just liked to scare the heck out of humans, which they achieved.

Jeez, this Hungarian film really haunts me to my bone.

If you want a good spook, watch the scene where the rabbits teach Tiny the value of fear... you'll regret it.

Sure, this film is pretty much lambasted by anyone who's ever seen it, and it is a pretty lame film, but that doesn't make that snowman any less creepy!

Those cold... dead eyes... emphasis on the cold!

While this movie has a lot of bright, whimsical moments, it also has a lot of gross bugs, and skeletal pirates, and evil creepy aunts and a sky rhinoceros... that darned sky rhinoceros.

Oh yes, even Scooby-Doo can be disturbing. Wait, what am I saying, of course, Scooby-Doo can be disturbing!

Especially if you throw the undead into the mix... watch out kids!

Well, yeah, obviously this movie was going to disturb a kid or two. Especially when the opening song has lines like:

"I am the one hiding under your bed Teeth ground sharp and eyes glowing red"

While this silly movie about silly witches might seem... well, silly to some, it's literally about witches who suck the souls of children and then eat them.

Definitely some disturbing fare!

Oh, look! Another one of Roald Dahl’s creepy stories turned into movies.

Yes, this one features a lot of strange violence on children, which is bound to disturb at least a couple of kids.

Sure, Disney might have tried to sell this as a horror-comedy, however, that doesn't mean there wasn't a whole lot of horrific elements and imagery in this film.

Especially for people afraid of spiders!
