R. Kelly Arrested On Federal Sex Crime Charges

Singer R. Kelly was arrested Thursday night while on a walk with his dog in Chicago, TMZ reports. Kelly has faced many legal troubles in the past, including charges of child pornography in 2002 that were eventually dropped. Interest in Kelly's behavior spiked last year when the documentary series Surviving R. Kelly aired claims from various people who knew Kelly that he was allegedly manipulative and abusive.

Kelly has recently faced legal issues related to failing to pay child support.

In March, Kelly was taken to the Cook County Jail after failing to pay $161, 633 in child support, but was released after someone who chose not to be identified made the payment on his behalf.

Kelly was arrested on Thursday in Chicago on a 13-count indictment.

As TMZ reports, the U.S. Attorney's Office of the Northern District says the charges included child porn, enticement of a minor, and obstruction of justice.

Kelly had recently pled not guilty to 11 felonies in June.

The Cook County State's Attorney's Office charged him with 5 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, 4 counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault and 2 counts of criminal sexual assault.

TMZ reports that there will be a second federal indictment out of Brooklyn.

Kelly will reportedly be charged with various crimes in an indictment that will be unveiled on Friday.
