Husband-Of-The-Year Builds A Custom Fireplace For His Wife's Birthday

Let me ask you something: Has your husband or boyfriend ever made you a unique DIY gift? Isn't that so amazing when it actually happens? I'm still waiting for mine, hee, hee.

However, I was really impressed by this one special birthday endeavor this husband gifted his wife. I've got to admit, she's one lucky lady indeed. Let's take a look.

Anna Elizabeth Teetz posted on Facebook about a special DIY project she embarked on with her husband.

It was actually her birthday wish to create a custom fireplace for their living room. Wow, I'm already impressed just thinking about that.

This is what their place looked like before the project started.

It's nice, but it's nothing to write home about. Am I right? It's just a simple setup with the TV over a cabinet. They could improve things, that's for sure.

To do just that, they built a custom frame around the TV.

Hmm, that does look quite interesting. Doesn't it? I'm already looking forward to seeing the final result. Are you? Ha, ha, I know I'm jumping the gun here.

Now, this part looks a little bit harder to do.

They created this deep hearthstone. I'm not a carpenter or anything, so I have no idea how one even does this. I'm just showing you how amazing this is starting to look already.

Okay, now we're getting somewhere.

Nice progress. I really like what I see here. I've got to say it isn't as hard as I first imagined. It might be doable even if you're not as handy as this couple. Do you agree?

Check out the nearly completed project here.

Wow, that looks pretty amazing, if I say so myself. Who knew that you could do something like this yourself? Want to know what the sweetest part of this project was for me at least?

This husband actually taught his wife how to use a tile cutter, miter saw, jigsaw, nail gun, and many other tools.

Aww, that's so nice. She says that she doesn't deserve this handyman. I bet he would say the same about her if you asked him.

When Anna posted her pictures on Facebook, everybody seemed to love the project.

Her post got about 10,000 comments on it. People really loved the idea and vowed to try to create something like this for their place.

Honestly, I would never have thought that this could be a home DIY project.

It looks complicated, but when you show it step-by-step, it's totally doable. Do you agree? Would you do something in your house? I absolutely love it.
