There's A 'Downton Abbey' Sequel Officially In The Works

Finally some good news!

Dust off your finest period piece dresses and assume your poshest British accents, because we're finally getting a sequel to the Downton Abbey film from 2019 that reignited the world's love for the classic British drama.

I haven't been this excited since the Queen came for a visit of my family's estate!

*Downton Abbey* is one of the most beloved pieces of media ever.

The series, following a very wealthy British family and all of their dramas, ran from 2010 to 2015, and was re-invigorated with a film that came out in September 2019.

Series star Hugh Bonneville has confirmed that a sequel to the film is officially coming!

"There won't be any more TV episodes, but we would love to make another movie," Hugh revealed.

"There is a script, it has been written and seen, but a little thing called coronavirus got in the way of us filming it. It would be lovely to think that later this year the cameras could start rolling," Hugh said.

Hugh added that everyone involved was "desperate" to get the ball rolling.

"It's the usual thing. The planets are circling. They are beginning to get into alignment," Hugh had said about the sequel in a different interview. "There is a thing called coronavirus knocking around and until that is under control in a sensible way, we are not going to be able to get all those ducks in a row. Mixing my metaphors here."

I don't know about you, but I'm SUPER excited!
