Some people think it's too cliché to believe that true love can conquer all, but we think they should hear about this adorable swan couple before making that claim again.
Once separated, these literal lovebirds were finally brought back together again in an emotional and touching reunion that has set our hearts aflutter.
The people of Crewe, England were very familiar with these lakeside lovers, dubbed Bonnie and Clyde. The pair were always spotted together in a true testament of their affection and love for one another.
However, one day some onlookers noticed that Bonnie had a leg injury that looked like it could become severe.
Someone reported Bonnie's leg injury to the RSPCA and they quickly sent a rescue team to help her. While they felt bad that she was forced to leave her beloved Clyde behind for the time being, they were determined to make sure Bonnie was okay.
A press release from the organization reported that while the rescue team was able to give Bonnie some much-needed medical treatment, her injury is unfortunately permanent.
With that said, they used the next couple of weeks to help her heal and rebuild her strength. Although the time was helpful to her recovery, it was clear that Bonnie missed Clyde very much.
When rescuers finally reunited the pair last month, it was as if no time had passed at all. They rushed to greet one another immediately and used their arching necks to form the ever-so adorable heart shape of love. It was a moment that made everyone melt.
As Lee Stewart, center manager at RSPCA Stapeley Grange, said, “Love was really in the air when we released Bonnie back into the wild."
