While we're certainly living in the age of the selfie, not everyone is down to snap a pic.

This largely includes celebrities who are asked alll of the time by fans to take a photo. Sometimes, these encounters are even terrifying.

After a while, enough is enough.

Here are 10+ celebrities who won't always take pictures with fans.

1. Chris Pratt

The Marvel actor has gotten used to disappointing fans who want photos.

His reasoning is that it ruins the present moment. "It's about stealing the moment to brag about later," he told Cigar Aficionado.

2. Amy Schumer

You can blame some "dude in Greenville" for making the comedian stop taking photos with fans.

According to her Instagram, the man wouldn't stop taking pictures. When she asked him to stop, he said, "No. It's America and we paid for you."

3. Jennifer Lawerence

After noticing an impact on her mental health, the Hunger Games actress enforced a strict no-photos policy.

"Sometimes I'm nice, sometimes I'm in a bad mood," she told CNN, adding that being able to say no to fans has helped her anxiety.

4. Zoe Saldana

Having three young children has changed the actress's perspective on photos.

“I feel really uncomfortable,” she told People. “They’re still at that tender age where they don’t understand why a stranger is coming over and touching their mother."

5. Prince Harry

The royal has two solid reasons to avoid photos with fans: one, it's breaking royal protocol, and two, he hates it.

He told a teenager that "selfies are bad" when she asked for a picture in Australia.

The Beauty and the Beast actress doesn't see the beauty in photos with fans. She just sees the difference between having a life or not.

That's not to say that she doesn't want to engage with her fans, though.

She shared that she would rather have a conversation with them.

"I'll say, 'I will sit here and answer every single Harry Potter fandom question you have, but I just can't do a picture,'" she continued.

After years of feeling like a "zoo animal" to fans, the singer had enough.

"I'm done taking pictures," he shared on Instagram. "It has gotten to the point that people won't even say hi to me or recognize me as a human."

The actress doesn't mince words when it comes to her distaste towards selfies.

She once called it "taking narcissism to the extreme" and that she "wouldn't dream of taking a selfie — with anyone." That clears that up!

She did, however, once defend a waiter who got suspended for asking for a selfie with her and her friends at dinner.

Thompson was reportedly “horrified” over learning about the waiter's suspension and phoned the restaurant to ask them to reinstate him.

"I still don't feel like I owe anyone anything," she told Nylon. She added that if she really loved someone, she'd want to hang with them instead.

In an interview with Paper magazine, the comedian criticized the world's obsession with social media and selfies.

"The amount of Instagram selfies seems crazy out-of-control," she said. She explained that people taking a picture of her takes her out of the present moment.

Near the end of 2020, the actress tearfully broke down about a harassing encounter she had with a fan while she was out Christmas shopping with her mom.

She said that the girl began videotaping her even though Brown had declined.

Bobby ended her tearful video by urging her followers to treat others with respect.

12. Kit Harington

Like Maisie Williams, the Game of Thrones alum isn't down for photos. He told The Guardian that doing so makes him feel like being Justin Bieber.

He'll especially decline if he's out with his wife, Rose Leslie.

As a veteran actress, she considers herself "retired" from the photo-taking part of being a celebrity.

Instead, she prefers to have a real exchange with fans. "I’m not an actor because I want my picture taken," she told the New York Times.

"The more we allow a certain projection, the more we’re feeding a generation to distance themselves from self-awareness and self-realization," she told Glamour.
