Mariah Carey's Older Brother Sued Her For 'Emotional Distress'

Mariah Carey is being sued by her estranged brother, Morgan Carey, following the release of her autobiography, The Meaning of Mariah Carey.

TMZ reports that Morgan claims the singer "damaged his reputation" when she recounted two alleged violent struggles he had with their parents in her recently released memoir.

*The Meaning of Mariah Carey* details two alleged altercations Carey had with his and Mariah's parents.

According to the suit, Mariah's book includes a passage that reads "It took twelve cops to pull my brother and father apart. The big bodies of men, all entangled like a swirling hurricane, crashed loudly into the living room."

"I was a little girl with very few memories of a big brother who protected me," she continued.

"More often, I felt I had to protect myself from him, and sometimes I would find myself protecting my mother from him too."

Morgan says her description of the struggle paints him as a violent man.

He went on to claim these fights with his father never happened when Mariah was a child.

He added that there's no way 12 cops would respond to a domestic violence report.

According to the documents obtained by TMZ, Mariah's book also alleges ... "Suddenly there was a loud, sharp noise, like an actual gunshot."

"My brother had pushed my mother with such force that her body slammed into the wall, making a loud cracking sound."

Morgan denies the allegations, claims tons of people witnessed the "deep affection" between him and his mother.

He adds that Mariah contradicted herself later in the book when she recounted her mother once saying, "Morgan is the only one I love."

Morgan is suing Mariah for defamation and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

Mariah has yet to comment on her brother's suit.
