Katharine McPhee Admits She Was 'Concerned' About People's View Of 35-Year Age Gap With David Foster

There's no denying Hollywood is filled with age gap relationships, it's kind of like what Hollywood is known for. I mean, also like moves and stuff but, an older man marrying a young woman is a tale as old as time.

So when Katharine McPhee recently opened up about her past anxieties about her 35-year age difference with husband David Foster, it was refreshing for fans to hear her vulnerabilities.

As fans know, Katharine, 36 and David, 71 recently welcomed their first child together.

People reported Katharine welcomed the pair's "healthy baby boy" on February 24.

This marked Katharine's first child, and David's sixth.

Now, Katharine is opening up about her relationship in a new interview with "Dr. Berlin’s Informed Pregnancy Podcast."

"We all have the ability to label things and to look at something for the way that it looks or face value and make a judgment," Katharine began.

"So I totally get the judgment initially, but things are never as they appear, things are never exactly as they appear and I’m in love with our love story and that’s all that matters."

Katharine pointed out that their relationship started out as a friendship a decade prior to the pair becoming involved romantically. "We had a real journey and I had a real process,” she explained.

"It took me a while to kind of come around to really want to have a real, serious relationship because I was very concerned with what people would think."

"The perception of what people try to create, especially with women, it’s always the woman’s fault,” she added.

"It’s the woman who wants to be with the older man because he has money and he’s had success and she wants this, that."

She concluded: "I mean, our story’s been the complete opposite."

We're just so happy the pair is happy!
