Woman's DIY Acne Remedy Accidentally Turns Her Face Yellow

Have you ever tried to make your own DIY face mask? I have to admit I've done a few of those myself with mixed results. Sometimes they worked and made my skin silky and smooth. And other times, I didn't see much of a difference.

This girl recently tried her hand at a homemade mask, and let's just say things didn't exactly go as planned. You have to see this!

Once people saw it, the video quickly went viral. Why? Well, it's one ingredient she used in the mask that had everyone up in arms, ha, ha!

Let me give you a little bit of a back story here.

So this girl has been having some skin issues lately. Her face has been breaking out in acne. So naturally, she went to do some research to remedy this situation.

While doing her research, she stumbled upon a DIY face mask.

What was great about it was that it was easy to make, and she already had all the ingredients in her kitchen. So she went ahead and made it herself.

The face mask had one special ingredient.

Are you ready to know what it was? Ladies and gents, it was — turmeric! Yes, that's right! Some people say turmeric has many fantastic benefits that can help with acne, wrinkles, and all kinds of skin issues.

So this girl was like, "Why not?" It sounds amazing, right?

So she applied it to her entire face. While she was doing that, her hand actually turned yellow — and that's when the panic set in. What if that happened to her face, too?

Well, as you might have already guessed — that's EXACTLY what happened!

Once she removed the face mask, her face was a bright yellow-orange hue. OMG! I know this is bad, but I can't stop laughing so hard! That poor girl.

She even tried to scrub it, and it still looks yellow, people!

Oh crap! I bet that's what went through her mind in addition to some other expletives, ha, ha! Can you imagine if that happened to you? I can't even fathom that!

Once folks saw this video on TikTok, they went to town commenting on it.

Most of them said that when they heard the word, "turmeric" their radar went off. If you ever used this stuff, you know that it can stain just about anything. I guess she didn't know that fact.

You've got to give it to this girl, though.

Her face is, in fact, now glowing, right?

Somehow I don't think that's what she had in mind, ha, ha! All she wanted was a clear face without any acne. That's all.

Here's one little fact this girl must've forgotten when working with turmeric.

You absolutely must dilute this colorful spice. That's why most face masks that contain it also call for using things like yogurt. It will ensure that the pigment doesn't stain your face.

Hmm, I guess whatever DIY mask she found failed to mention that fact.

See? This should serve as a warning to any of you trying an unfamiliar ingredient. Do your research, people! It might be more time-consuming, but it's worth it.

Not surprisingly, some people on TikTok found this failed face mask experiment quite funny.

It didn't take them too long to start making jokes. I think this is one of my favorites. What do you think? I like this person's sense of humor here.

And then there's this joker.

Ha, ha! She's got that right. I think this poor girl would fit right in with Bart, Margie, and the whole gang. Unfortunately, I don't think this is what she wants to hear right about now.

Now joking aside, one person came in to give this girl some real advice.

According to them, she should try using apple cider vinegar and water to take this yellow tint off. OMG, I hadn't thought of that. Just be sure to dilute the apple cider vinegar before applying it to your face.

I just hope she learned her lesson and won't try another Turmeric remedy.

Now, if you want to dye your hair yellow, this might just be the right ingredient for it. I don't know. I think I would pass on trying that, too.

OMG, is this not the funniest DIY mask failure you have ever seen or what?

I feel so bad for this girl, but at the same time, I'm shaking my head in disbelief. Have you ever done something like this while attempting a beauty DIY?
