Fans Think 'Handmaid's Tale' Season 4 Looks Like A Horror Movie After Latest Trailer

Blessed be!

Obviously, as a woman, The Handmaid's Tale has ALWAYS been a scary show. That kind of dystopian future can give a gal nightmares. Despite that, the show itself is generally more of a dark thriller/dystopian fiction kind of show. While it has scary elements, it's not a scary show the way that scary movies are scary.

Until now.

*The Handmaid's Tale* has been a smash hit.

Based on the novel of the same name by Margaret Atwood from 1985, the show follows June, played by Elisabeth Moss, as she attempts to escape the dystopian world where women are enslaved based on their fertility.

The show is about to enter it's fourth season, and things are getting intense.

The show recently dropped a trailer for season 4, airing on April 28th.

SO much happens in this trailer that it's hard to even summarize — June is on the run, a plane full of children escape Gilead, Aunt Lydia vowing to get revenge, and June delivering a pretty badass line: "I made a promise to hurt them, the way we hurt."

Fans are absolutely obsessed with the trailer, as they should be!

It's intense, chilling, and downright SCARY! As one fan on Instagram put it, the trailer has "HORROR MOVIE VIBES!"

I'm a pretty big baby when it comes to scary things, but I think I'm just going to have to suck it up when it comes to this show, because I am not missing it!
