LeVar Burton Still Wants To Take Over As 'Jeopardy!' Host

Filling the position of full-time Jeopardy! host has got to be a tough decision. Not only do you have to find the right fit for a beloved show that'll air five times a week for millions of people worldwide, but you've also got to find someone who can fill Alex Trebek's giant shoes.

LeVar Burton thinks he knows the man for the job — himself!

Alex Trebek was the host of *Jeopardy!* for 37 years until his passing in 2020.

Since then, the show has created a roster of guest hosts to take over and fill his place temporarily, including Aaron Rodgers, Katie Couric, Mayim Bialik, Dr. Oz, Anderson Cooper, and lots more.

Fans have had their own suggestions for who should take over for Alex full-time, however.

One incredibly popular suggestion is actor LeVar Burton.

LeVar is no stranger to hosting, having helmed Reading Rainbow for 21 years, and he's a familiar face as well as appearing on Star Trek: The Next Generation, Roots, and more over his career.

Fans aren't the only ones who think LeVar would be a good fit for the gig!

LeVar shared a link to a fan's petition to have him take over the job on Twitter.

“Leaving this here in the event that the powers that be are listening,” he wrote alongside the link to the petition that has at the time of writing this article over 170 thousand signatures!

If you're dying to sign it, by the way, you can find it right here.
