Millie Bobby Brown Is 17, But Is Frustrated That Fans Still See Her As A Kid

It's hard enough to admit that I'm getting older, let alone that the child actors I thought were so adorable as kids have gotten older too in a stark reminder that I'm no longer part of the youthful generation.

17-year-old actress Millie Bobby Brown, best known for Stranger Things has been dealing with fans not accepting her growing up, and she's speaking out.

In a recent interview, Millie has opened up about how her fans aren't quite ready to see her get older.

"I'm only 17, but at the end of the day, I'm learning to be a woman. I'm learning to be a young woman," she said. "So being a young girl, people watch you grow up, right?"

Millie said that her fans feel invested in her life.

"They've almost become invested in your growth and your journey. But they aren't ready to accept the fact that you're growing up," Millie went on to say.

Millie has created headlines in the past for behaving in a way that some fans felt was too grown up for her age.

"So I wear a crop top and people are like, 'She's 10,'" Millie said.

"I'm like, 'No…I am 17.' That's a thing that girls do," she said. "Or I wear high heels. Or I wear an outfit to an award show and they're like, 'She looks 50.' No, it's because you've watched me since I was 10. That's why you think that."

"I think that's what I found has been quite difficult: the transitioning period," she said.

"They're not accepting it and I've completely accepted it. You know, I'm ready. I'm like, 'It's been a while. Let me wear a high heel!' I'm not going to be playing those young girls anymore and it's kind of like, I have 50 million people like my parents," she said.

It's always a bit frustrating transitioning from teenager to adult — I can't imagine doing it with millions of people watching!
