People Are Turning Old Pallets Into The Ultimate Outdoor Swing Beds

I won't lie to you, I really enjoy our backyard. We actually have enough space for a garden and a few other things.

One of the projects I would love to embark on is to set up a swing. And when I saw this idea, I almost fell off my chair. It's that good. Wait until you see this.

I don't know about you, but I've always loved swings, even as an adult.

There's something really soothing about enjoying the outdoors while swaying on a swing set. The calm breeze in my hair is all I need these days.

I've been thinking of setting up a swing in our backyard for a while now.

And while I like the regular swing idea, I just discovered something even better. If you can believe it, people are turning pallets into the ultimate outdoor swings.

Oh, yes, that's right.

The trusted pallet seems like the perfect vehicle to create a sturdy and cozy swing. And check this out, it's not just an ordinary swing. It's a swing bed! Say what? OMG, that's so fun!

So how do you go about making one?

Here's what you will need: two pallets, 2 x 4 wooden planks (8-foot pieces), drill, screws, saw, measuring tape, rope, twin mattress or cushion, and two or three vinyl zippered mattress covers. That's it, folks.

Now on to assembly.

You're going to have to slide the 2 x 4 planks through the inside of the pallets. It's best to put one on each inside edge of the pallet and one through the middle. Then, make sure you screw it all together.

The last step is to drill holes in the swing so you can put the rope through.

Once that's done, you can hang it up anywhere you want. Then you can place the mattress on top and add any other decorative touches such as pillows and blankets.

It's actually as easy as that.

I bet it won't take you any longer than a few hours to assemble it all. Think about all the time you're going to spend on it. It's definitely worth some labor to get there, right?

I can definitely see myself chilling on a swing bed like this.

In fact, try to pry me away from it. I dare you. Honestly, if we set this up in our backyard, I'll never want to go inside again, ha, ha!

Let me ask you a question: Are you ready to set up a pallet swing bed in your backyard this season?

I can't wait to get one going on our property. I just hope all the neighbors won't be too jealous, hee, hee!
