10+ Celebrity Mothers Who Opened Up About Their Difficulties With Breastfeeding

Ask 100 mothers about breastfeeding and you're bound to get all different results.

While some love it — The Big Bang Theory alum, Mayim Bialik, nursed her son until he was four — others let out a groan at the thought.

That's because breastfeeding can cause pain, mental stress, and so much more.

Here, 10+ celeb mothers get real about nursing.

1. Kristin Cavallari

The Laguna Beach alum was dunzo with breastfeeding, so much so that she once said that she "was a slave to breastfeeding."

There was even one particular incident that would leave anyone with an emotional scar.

During an episode of *Very Cavallari*, she revealed that she once had major clogged ducts.

This led to her now-ex having to unclog them...

"Jay had to get them out for me. Sucking harder than he's ever sucked before." Suffice to say, she soon turned to goat milk.

2. Kim Kardashian

As a mother of four kids, the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star dealt with sibling jealousy over breastfeeding.

"When I was breastfeeding [Saint], [North] was so jealous that I had to get a little milk box and put it in the other bra with a straw so she would drink and she would drink," Kim said told Ellen DeGeneres.

3. Amy Schumer

In 2019, the comedian opened up about her decision to stop breastfeeding her son, Gene, after a month.

"He didn’t latch and I just didn’t feel that push to make that happen. Then I pumped for like the first month. Then I was like, ‘Not for me’…. This is not for me and I didn’t want to do it."

4. Hilary Duff

The Lizzie McGuire star gave birth to Banks, the baby girl she had with husband, Matthew Koma, in 2018.

Six months after, she shared that she had given up breastfeeding due to it impacting her mentally.

A lot of this stemmed from trying to balance motherhood with working on *Younger* at the time.

"Pumping at work sucks. I had zero downtime and am usually pumping in a hair and makeup trailer while four hands work to get me ready for the next scene with lots of other people around."

5. Jessica Alba

The star found it difficult to manage breastfeeding her son, Hayes, and her billion-dollar Honest company.

“I felt like he wanted to nurse 24/7, which was obviously really challenging when you’re trying to go back to work,” she told Motherly.

6. Mila Kunis

Since she travels a lot for work, she dealt with people shaming her for breastfeeding in public.

"It took us a little back because people actually looked at us in a shameful [way], and we were like, ‘Oh my God,’ because it’s so not a sexual act," she told Vanity Fair.

7. Kelly Rowland

When she was unable to produce enough milk for her son, Titan, the former Destiny's Child star got really down on herself. That's because her heart was set on breastfeeding.

She told Parents magazine that stressing over this only made things worse.

8. Khloé Kardashian

The reality star was heartbroken over ending breastfeeding her daughter, True.

"It was really hard for me to stop (emotionally) but it wasn’t working for my body," she wrote on Twitter. She shared that she tried everything to make it work.

This includes water, special cookies, power pumping, massages, and so on.

"I fought and fought to try and continue but then when I actually stopped, I didn’t realize what a relief it was for me to not stress and worry anymore."

9. Ali Wong

13. Shay Mitchell

The Pretty Little Liars star has had an up-and-down experience with breastfeeding her first child.
