Woman Creates An Office Chair That Accommodates Needy Pets

Who here has a needy pet who follows them around the house? How about when you're trying to work at your home office? Does your pet get in the way? I hear you.

It seems to be a bit of a challenge for many people. So this one clever lady designed a chair that both humans and pets can enjoy together.

Does that sound familiar to you?

Does your dog or cat lie on your lap while you're trying to furiously type on your keyboard? Ha, ha! I know our pets just want to be near us, which is sweet, but we still need to get some work done.

Our cat does follow us around, but he usually stays on the ground.

So I had no idea this was such a challenge for pet parents. Designer Simone Giertz is one of those people whose dog frequently interferes with her work.

On one of those days, an idea dawned on her.

She figured that if a chair that accommodates herself and her dog doesn't exist, she should build one. After all, she's known for inventing things, so this was a natural fit for her.

This is what she came up with, ladies and gentlemen.

On the left is her prototype and on the right is the final version of the chair. Doesn't it look so cool? Wow, I have to admit I would never have imagined it looking like this.

Simone's main concern was making the chair comfortable for both herself and her pet.

Her dog Scraps has only three legs, so it was important for Simone to make some steps for the dog to go up on the chair.

She figured that if her dog Scraps can do it, any small dog or cat can too.

And judging by the looks of it, I think she's right. Simone also incorporated a cute nook for the pet to sit right by their owners' feet.

Even though the chair is really functional, it doesn't take up too much space.

You can easily fit it in any workspace, just like, Simone did here. It's only slightly bigger than a regular chair, but boy, is it ever super handy, huh?

Now, she can work in peace, and her 'needy' dog is right by her side, hehe.

If this isn't the perfect work-from-home solution, I don't know what is. Do you get what I'm saying? I think the doggy is really enjoying it, too.

So what do you think of this invention for parents with needy pets?

I think this chair is simply brilliant. If I had a dog or cat that wanted to sit by me all the time, I would get it right away.
