Facebook User Shares Genius Hack For Getting Rid Of Hot Grease

Who here loves to cook? I do, I do. In fact, I'm already thinking of my next culinary masterpiece. Whether it's frying, sauteing, or boiling, I love it all.

But one thing I do not like is cleaning up grease. Ugh, doesn't it make a big mess or what? However, I just found the best way to get rid of it, and you've got to see this hack.

I can't ever get enough of fried food even though it's bad for you.

If you asked me what my favorite food was, I would say it's French Fries. And then I would add, "With a side of fried bacon," ha, ha!

So what do you do when you have to get rid of grease after cooking?

I hope you don't just pour it down the drain. That would be a huge no-no. Pouring grease down your sink can clog up the drains, big-time.

I'm not sure if you realized it or not, but grease solidifies once it cools off.

That's bad news for your drains. As it solidifies inside of your drains, it becomes a sticky trap for gunk and debris. That's so gross.

If this happens for some time, the blockage will slow down the water flow in your pipes.

It will take you forever to wash those dishes. Not only that, but the grease can also wreak havoc on local sewer systems and septic tanks.

I'm sure you don't want to contribute to something as bad as that, huh?

Now, I know what you're thinking. I can just pour the grease down the toilet. Nope, you can't do that either for the same reason. It's not good for the pipes.

Okay, so what can you do then?

Well, I'll introduce you to this genius solution here. This is where the old trusty foil wrap comes in handy. Grab a nice sizeable sheet and place it in your sink. Then, form it around your drain.

Now that you have fully protected the drain, you can pour the grease in.

Then, wait until it completely cools off and take the whole thing out and throw it away. VoilĂ ! It's that easy, folks. Can you believe it?

I don't know why I haven't thought of this before.

It is such a simple yet effective solution. I bet many folks haven't heard of it, either. And those who have, have been doing it all along. As they say, "You learn something new every day."

On the other hand, some wondered why do this over the sink at all?

I mean, I would be a little nervous, to be honest. What if there was a hole in the aluminum foil? I wouldn't want to risk that.

Some other folks had some ideas of their own.

I'm not sure if you want to resort to this, ha, ha! I, for one, want to be good with my neighbors so I wouldn't risk ticking them off. But then again, you do you.

Now, this is more like it.

How do you like this idea? I really have to start doing this once we get a dog. I bet the pup is going to love his food and polish it off real fast, hee, hee!

Then someone came up with this clever idea.

I've seen it done with coffee in the freezer but not with grease. But now that I learned of this trick, it makes perfect sense to me. You've got to save that grease for flavor.

If you don't have any use for the grease, you can just do this instead.

I think doing it this way works, too. I would be a little bit more inclined to try this idea instead of pouring the grease in the foil over the sink.

So what's your take on this idea?

Would you use this from now on to dispose of your cooking grease? Or do you have a better hack? I would be a little nervous doing it right over the drain, but I suppose if the foil is strong enough, it should work.
