Use Cotton Pads Dipped In Wax For An Instant Campfire Starter

What's your favorite thing about summer? For me, it would have to be campfires. There is nothing more awesome than chilling by the fire, roasting marshmallows, and enjoying good company.

However, it's not always easy to start a fire, especially if you're camping. Until now, that is. This super cool trick will ensure that you always get a campfire going as quickly as possible.

Besides roasting marshmallows, I absolutely love watching the campfire flames.

There is something so soothing about them. And who doesn't love some fire-roasted potatoes, huh? OMG, those are yum. But before you can enjoy those, you need to start that fire, huh?

If you're well-prepared, you shouldn't have too much trouble doing that.

But there are those instances, like after a rainfall, which makes starting a fire much harder. So, it doesn't surprise me that some clever people came up with something pretty genius.

If you can believe it, folks are using cotton pads as fire starters.

But before you run to grab those cotton pads, you need to know something. You can't just use them as-is. No, no. You need to prepare them first.

The idea here is to use cotton pads dipped in wax.

Aha! That makes a lot more sense now, huh? Okay, so I know what you're going to ask next: "How do you do that?" No worries, I've got you covered.

I'm going to tell you what you need to do.

First of all, you need to make sure you have some plain cotton pads. Then you need to purchase some wax. Now dedicate a pan that you don't mind using to melt the wax.

Melt a few cubes of wax in the pan over low heat.

Once the wax has melted, you can grab some cotton balls. Now using tongs, dip the cotton balls in the wax. Get them all coated up and remove them from the pan.

Let the waxed cotton pads dry on parchment paper.

And that's it, folks! It's as easy as that. Now they're ready to be used as a fire starter. You can put them in a Ziploc bag or store them in a jar. When you're ready to use them, tear the pads in half to expose some of the fibers inside and light them.

Bring the waxed cotton pads along when you go camping.

These will be such a lifesaver if you ever run into trouble starting a campfire. I bet you will be so glad you discovered this neat idea. And, all your friends will be super impressed.
