Watch Your Plants Grow With An Upcycled Retro TV Terrarium

Who here loves their plants? I definitely do, even though they don't always love me back. Because of my "black thumb" I've decided to stick to plants that are easy to keep alive.

If you're a fellow plant person, I bet you're always looking for unique ways to display your babies, huh? Well, if that's so, then you might like this idea.

Let me ask you something: where do you typically keep most of your plants?

Is it on a window sill or a nice plant shelf? Those are both great ideas. But I recently stumbled upon something that's even more clever.

But I'm not talking about just a regular one. No, no, no! The idea I'm going to share with you is a lot more fun. Get this, people, are actually upcycling vintage TVs to make spectacular terrariums.

That sounds like a super cool idea to me. So how does one go about repurposing an old TV to turn it into a terrarium? Well, as it turns out, it's not as hard as it might sound.

First thing's first: You need to find an old CRT TV that fits your decor style.

Then, you'll have to get a professional to remove the cathode ray tubes. They can contain high-level toxins, so you definitely don't want that.

You can paint the inside of the TV to match your decor.

Then add some plywood to the base of the TV to support the weight of the planter. After that, you can focus on adding some strips of grow lights so it looks illuminated inside.

You can use aluminum turkey trays as your planter.

Now comes the fun part — arranging everything. Have fun with it and choose a variety of plants. It goes without saying that succulents would fit this project perfectly because they're pretty low maintenance.

Wow, who knew that it would be so easy to accomplish, huh?

I thought this kind of project would require a lot of time, but you could finish this in just a few days. I think it's totally worth it to have something as cool as this.

I have to admit I'm pretty impressed. What a fun little plant space here, huh? If this isn't a great inspiration for you, I don't know what else you need, ha, ha!
