Add Instant Curb Appeal To Your Home With A Genius TikTok Hack

Hi. My name is Brittany, I'm 31-years-old, and I'm a plant killer.

I know. I feel awful about it, but the reality is that I cannot keep a plant alive for the life of me. Whether they're indoors or outdoors, those things do not last long under my thumb. That's why I have all fake plants these days.

One clever realtor is on the same page — but she took it a step further, and it could really help our home's curb appeal!

I think we all know how important curb appeal is.

Keeping your house looking nice and neat on the outside just feels good. It's so refreshing to walk up to your home and know that you worked hard to keep it looking its best, even if you don't plan to sell it!

Here's what you'll need.

Hit up your favorite local craft or hardware store for this hack. You'll need floral foam that will fit in your chosen plant pot, some spray adhesive, and decorative rocks.

Oh, and you'll need this, too.

The star of the hack: a fake plant! This fake aloe plant is the perfect size for a flower bed, or even a pot on the patio. Michaels has a huge selection!

Cut a hole in your floral foam.

Here's where your spray adhesive comes in. To ensure your plant doesn't go anywhere, spray in the inside of the hole and the fake stem of the plant before you connect them. Bam, wind proof.

Add some decorative rocks!

Tell me this doesn't look great. Pop some larger rocks in the pot to really sell the whole illusion, and you're done! No more killing plants for you!

Some TikTok commenters had even more helpful tips for this hack

One user pointed out that the sun could bleach out the color of the fake plant. Apparently, Michaels actually sells a sealant to prevent that exact issue! I found it here for $10.99, but any UV resistant spray will do.

Some people were not into the whole fake plant thing.

However, as someone who has killed far too many plants to name, I have to agree with Amanda. A one time payment of $40 for something that will last me years is just the better option for me.

Some people were already on board the fake outdoor plant train!

Listen, some of us are just late to the party here! I love the idea of never having to tend to my garden, tbh. I'm just not an outdoors girl, but I love to LOOK like I am.
