Channing Tatum Is Tired Of Being Naked In His Movies: 'I Have To Get Better At Acting'

Channing Tatum is baring all — only this time, it's his thoughts.

The actor recently revealed during an interview with Kelly Clarkson that he's tired of being naked in his movies. This largely includes Step Up and the Magic Mike films.

The latter is actually based on his past as a male stripper.

Keep reading to see what Tatum had to say.

By now, it's pretty much a known fact that Channing Tatum used to be a stripper.

He's talked about it numerous times in interviews over the years, such as when he told The Telegraph about how he did it for nine months at the age of 19 after dropping out of college.

He had a different persona for the gig: he went by the name “Chan Crawford” at a male strip club called Club Joy in Florida.

While most nights he would only earn around 50 dollars, he made bank whenever he attended a stripper convention.

There, he was among the ratio of 20 to 70 strippers to 2,000 to 3,000 women.

"It was crazy. They attacked me every night," he told *The Telegraph*.

Despite the easy confidence you see in his movies, Tatum said that stripping was a nerve-wracking experience.

"I just personally respect everyone for jumping into the thong with both feet and out onto the stage because I’ve done it before, and it was still nerve-racking for me.”

When Tatum transitioned into making movies in his early 20s, his days of baring it all weren't exactly over.

There were many shirtless scenes in his breakout film Step Up opposite his ex-wife, Jenna Dewan.

Then, of course, there was Magic Mike, a movie based on his stripping past.

Since then, he's starred in several other movies, including *21 Jump Street*, *Magic Mike XXL*, *Dear John*, and *G.I. Joe*.

With abs like his, it's no surprise that almost all these films showcased an element of the actor showing some skin.

The viewers certainly haven't complained.

But one person who has is Channing himself.

The actor recently revealed in an interview with Kelly Clarkson that he's actually tired of being naked in his movies. He started by opening up about getting into tip-top shape for the movies he's in.

"As someone who works out for a job, I promise you I would not look like this unless I had to be naked in most of my movies mostly," Channing said.

Then came the kicker: "At some point I have to get better at acting so I don't have to be naked in all of them."

Since he's working out around the clock to get in shape for roles, he applauded those who fit health and fitness into their busy lives.

"I literally get to work out as a job and it's still hard," he said. "I can't imagine people who have a 9-5 job, who have kids at home."

"Where do they get the energy and the time to actually focus on themselves?" he pondered to himself and Kelly.

One duty besides fitness the star juggles is co-parenting his seven-year-old daughter, Everly, with ex-wife, Jenna Dewan.

The pair announced their split in 2018 after nine years of marriage.

Despite his thoughts on being naked in movies, he's not shy to share his rockhard body on social media.

He did so back in September when he detailed how he got back into shape after an injury.

"It's been a long road back. Injuries, life [expletive], and just insanity in general," he wrote in an Instagram caption.

He also shared a feeling "goodie good" post-workout selfie in April.

So at least if he quits getting naked in movies, we'll always have Instagram. Thanks, social media!!
