Fran Drescher Celebrates 21 Years Of Being Cancer-Free: 'It's Been An Amazing Journey'

Fran Drescher is one of those celebrities that everyone adores. To be fair, we're only human — how could we not love her? She's bubbly, she's talented, and she's totally hilarious!

As fans may recall, the actress was diagnosed with uterine cancer back in 1999 and now, Fran is celebrating 21 years of being cancer-free!

*The Nanny* star recently gave an interview to the "People" magazine's podcast and noted that it’s been 21 years since she was told she was cancer-free

As fans may recall, the actress underwent a hysterectomy after being diagnosed with uterine cancer in 1999.

"It’s been an amazing journey and I have learned tremendous life lessons and experienced incredible silver linings as a result of this experience,” she said on the podcast.

Fran's experience with her cancer battle was documented in her memoir "Cancer Schmancer."

The actress went on to found her own advocacy organization named after her book’s title.

“I got famous, then I got cancer, and now I live to talk about it," is the slogan used on the website and in Fran's Instagram bio.

On the group's website, she writes: "Sometimes the best gifts come in the ugliest packages. Please lock elbows with me and join the Cancer Schmancer Movement so together we can do what needs to be done, so fewer of us will die prematurely.”
