Apparently 'Cheugy' Is The New Word People Are Using To Describe Millennials

When you think of Millenials, a few things might come to mind: basic, selfie-obsessed, and words like "slay," "yass," and "on fleek".

Here's another one for ya: Cheugy. Say whaat? This word joins the long list of unflattering words used to describe the generation of people born between 1981 to 1996.

Come learn what it means.

The word "Cheugy" (pronounced chew-gee) is having a moment on TikTok right now.

It was first coined by a Beverly Hills high school student named Gaby Rasson in 2013.

According to Urban Dictionary, it can be used to describe someone who is out-of-date and trying too hard with old trends.

Think quoting Taylor Swift's "I'm feelin' 22" lyric on your 22nd birthday on Instagram.

It's cute, but the trend is no longer fresh. The same goes for out-of-date clothes and slang.

TikTok user @hollyjeanmadison shared some more examples in a video.

She shared that her love of hats with words on it, going to Disney as an adult, and owning Baby Yoda merch is all very cheugy.

Since the word is Millenial-related, you better bet there are hashtags to find more examples.

This includes #CheugLife and #Cheugy. Here, you'll find chevron print, UGGs, Friends merch, and more.

Basically, anything purchased between 2005 and 2014 isn't safe.

As I sit here in my Friends sweater, wearing my UGGS, and sipping from my mug that says, "but, coffee first," I'm feeling a little personally attacked right now.

Anyone else?
