Amy Schumer Opens Up About Her Husband's Autism Diagnosis In Emotional Birthday Post For Their Son

Amy Schumer is known for a lot of things, and holding back is not one of them. The reason this comedian has so many loyal fans (guilty as charged!) is because of her ability to be open and honest with us about everything.

Now, the 39-year-old is sharing a sweet tribute to her hubby while celebrating her son's second birthday.

As fans may recall, Amy has gotten candid in the past about her husband Chris Fischer's autism diagnosis.

While chatting with Seth Meyers in April 2019, the comedian revealed that her husband's diagnosis was "a sum positive" for their relationship.

"That's why we both wanted to talk about it, because it's been totally positive," she shared, as per USA Today.

"And I think a lot of people resist getting diagnosed, and even with some of their children, 'cause of the stigma, that comes along with it."

Now, Amy is giving her husband a shoutout in her son Gene's second birthday post on Instagram.

"Today is our son’s birthday and I woke up emotional as hell thinking about my husband, Chris," the comedian began.

Sharing a series of photos, she continued.

"In this first photo while I was having a 3 hour c section he held my hand and stared in my eyes so I never felt alone. I feel loved and supported always. He takes care of our family and is a husband and father beyond my wildest dreams."

"Also he has autism spectrum disorder. Being tested and diagnosed has helped us communicate and support each other better," she explained.

"People have reached out to us saying that seeing our doc #expectingamy motivated them to get tested and that it has changed their lives. We want to encourage parents and people to give themselves the gift of information so people can function to the best of their abilities and remove any stigma that comes with autism."

"Statistically our son most likely will be diagnosed as well and if he’s anything like his father that is wonderful news," Amy continued.

"So on our babies birthday where he held my hand tight and held me with his eyes I want to say I love you thank you and happy birthday little geenie panini we love you as much as you love school busses."
