Kids do the darndest things, and sometimes those things end being rather costly.
Four-year-old Noah Bryant's biggest passion is the cartoon show Spongebob Squarepants, and recently he decided to show his love in a rather extreme way.
What he needed were popsicles in the shape of Spongebob himself, and how many he needed was apparently 918. That's 51 cases with a price tag of $2,618.85.
That order was non-refundable, and Noah's mom, Jennifer Bryant, simply couldn't afford that type of hit. As a mother to three children and currently a social work student at New York University, $2,600 worth of popsicles wasn't really in her budget.
The fundraiser went live Monday, May 3, and met its goal within 24 hours. As of writing this, it has reached $11,648, far more than Schloss or Bryant could have expected.
"Thank you SO much for your mind-blowing generosity and support. [...] As a parent to a child living with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder), all future donations will go towards Noah's education and additional supports," Bryant wrote. "We cannot thank you enough. Truly."
Computer security might be tightening up in that household, but at least the story has an extremely happy ending.
