Bindi Irwin Shares Touching Painting Imagining Her Dad Holding His Granddaughter

The iconic Steve Irwin, known affectionately as "The Crocodile Hunter," helped to provide sanctuary and advance wildlife preservation in Australia and around the world.

This past Mother's Day, Steve's daughter Bindi's was celebrating with her daughter for the first time. In order to pay homage to her father, Bindi shared a touching painting of her dad holding his granddaughter.

This September marks the 15 year anniversary of Steve *The Crocodile Hunter* Irwin's tragic death.

In September of 2006, The Crocodile Hunter and his crew were filming near Australia's Great Barrier Reef.

A frightened stingray mistook Steve for prey and wound up puncturing his chest with its jagged barb.

Fans still aren't over his death, and they probably never will be.

He was a hero to many, and fans all around the world look to Steve Irwin as a role model.

He taught everyone how to be kind to animals.

Because of his influence, fans are incredibly invested in his children and wife.

They love keeping up to date with the family and all the good that they do.

This brings us to Steve's daughter, Bindi Irwin.

Bindi is all grown up now and gave birth to a baby girl this past March.

Grace Warrior Irwin Powell has quite the legacy behind her name. According to Bindi's caption, Grace was the name of her grandmother.

The baby's middle names, Warrior Irwin, are a tribute to her father, and Powell is the surname of her husband, Chandler.

The baby's name is not the only tribute she has done for her father.

Bindi Irwin has shared a few touching tributes to her father to mark a special occasion.

Way before her recent one, back when she got married, she posted a painting imagining her father on her wedding day.

Bindi wrote about how they honored her dad at the ceremony.

"Mum helped me get ready, Robert walked me down the aisle, Chandler became my husband and together we lit a candle in Dad’s memory. We shared tears and smiles and love," she wrote.

Then, in an Instagram post, Bindi shared what it may have looked like if Steve could have been present on the day.

Bindi captioned the photograph with a quote, writing, "'To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die.' ― Thomas Campbell. Thank you @themonkeybrush for creating this spectacular piece."

Now, Bindi has shared another picture to honor her father.

Since this was Bindi's first Mother's Day with her daughter, she decided to do something special.

It was absolutely gorgeous.

Similar to her previous tribute, it was another painting.

Bindi had a painting commissioned that shows her late father holding his granddaughter, surrounded by the rest of the family.

The likeness is strikingly realistic and almost appears to be three-dimensional at first glance.

"Celebrating my first Mother’s Day." she wrote as the caption.

"This day embodies the extraordinary gift of family. Thank you to ‘The Monkey Brush’ for bringing my family and Chandler’s together in these stunning works of art."

Bindi concluded the post by writing "I wish we could all be together but sometimes life has other plans."

"❤️To my beautiful daughter, always know that you are loved beyond description."

How sweet!
