Adam Sandler Makes Surprise Return To IHOP To Meet Host Who Said He'd Have To Wait

One of the ways that life can be strange is that you never really know which events in it are going to turn into sagas that capture your attention for weeks.

Although that's generally an expected outcome when a major disaster or stunning revelation has world ramifications, the world is unpredictable enough that some of the things we get excited over simply won't be possible to explain to those who weren't there when it happened.

And based on the surprising number of developments that have occurred after an IHOP host turned Adam Sandler away on a busy day without recognizing him, it seems like this story that might normally seem inconsequential is one of them.

That said, it's hard to think of a more perfect ending for it than what has just happened.

On April 25, Tiktok user @dayanna.rodas posted a video in which she was clearly embarrassed to tell Sandler that he'd have a 30-minute wait ahead of him at an IHOP in Manhasset, New York.

Her caption begged him to come back and as we discussed last week, his classy response showed he didn't take the matter personally.

As he said, "For the record, I only left the IHOP because the nice woman told me the all-you-can-eat deal didn’t apply to the milkshakes."

But in a move that was inspired by that response, it seems that IHOP had good news for Sandler.

On May 10, @dayanna.rodas posted another TikTok promoting IHOP's Milkshake Monday in which it would actually be possible to enjoy all the milkshakes you can drink.

As IHOP said in a statement, the promotion was "sparked by one very famous fan's penchant for milkshakes, following his viral visit to a busy IHOP restaurant last week."

And sure enough, when a truckload of milkshakes arrived at that same location in Manhasset, Sandler made his triumphant return.

Although the host's TikTok showing a photo collection from the event depicted Sandler graciously taking photos with multiple staff members, he made sure to reunite with the young woman who started it all.

As she wrote in her caption, "Couldn’t have been more excited!! Thank you Adam Sandler!"

And based on an Instagram post that appeared later that day, Sandler was just as appreciative.

As one of his dogs takes in the surroundings, Sandler made sure to capture the affectionate sign referring to him as "Sandman."

As he wrote, "Thank u IHOP for Milkshake Monday."

Of course, anyone else who got to partake in the promotion were likely just as inclined to thank him.
