Bindi Irwin Shares Touching Pic That Imagines Steve Holding His Granddaughter

Mother's Day is a beautiful celebration where we honor and thank the mother figures in our lives. Often heartfelt and warm, the day can become a little bittersweet when we have to celebrate without certain loved ones.

For her first Mother's Day as a mother herself, Bindi Irwin thought it right to include her late father, and did so in a beautifully touching way.

Bindi Irwin just celebrated her first Mother's Day with her daughter Grace in a way that brought a tear to all of our eyes.

Celebrating any holiday after losing a parent can be tough, especially when it means them missing out on life events such as becoming a grandparent. Despite this, Bindi found the perfect way to incorporate her late father, Steve Irwin, into the day.

She shared a commissioned portrait of the family with him right in the center holding his granddaughter.

"Celebrating my first Mother's Day. This day embodies the extraordinary gift of family," she said on Instagram alongside the photo. She made sure to acknowledge the artist, too, writing, "Thank you to 'The Monkey Brush' for bringing my family and Chandler's together in these stunning works of art. I wish we could all be together but sometimes life has other plans."

This isn't the first time Bindi had honored her father with the life of her daughter, even including him in her name.

When her daughter, Grace Warrior Irwin Powell, was welcomed into the world on March 25, 2021, she shared a post that explained the meaning behind her name.

"Her middle names, Warrior Irwin, are a tribute to my dad and his legacy as the most incredible Wildlife Warrior," the post read, also detailing how her name tied into husband Chandler's family.

Even before having Grace, Bindi just knew Steve would have made an amazing grandfather.

"He would've been a good, good grandpa. Yeah, he really would've been. I don't think we would've ever seen our daughter. He would've just whisked her away into the zoo and it would've been perfect," she described in an interview with Entertainment Tonight back in February.

This Mother's Day has truly been a celebration of all her family, just like she wanted.

With well wishes from her loved ones and the continued honoring of her wonderful father, this will be a Mother's Day she'll remember forever, as well as one we were all happy we got to witness.
