Tina Turner Set To Be Inducted As A Solo Act In The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame

There is no denying that Tina Turner is simply the best, not just to me, but to anyone who loves good music, which is everyone. Do you know who else loves good music? The people in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, which is why it was shocking for fans to learn Ms. Turner hadn't been inducted as a solo act, only as a duo with her abusive ex-husband and former music partner, Ike Turner.

Now, fans have taken matters into their own hands and have gotten Tina inducted as a solo act themselves!

As you may have heard, Tina Turner's newly released HBO documentary has struck a chard with fans.

Tina, released in March, gave fans an unprecedented look at the 81-year-old's life and career. The documentary also touched on Tina's PTSD following her abusive relationship with her ex-husband and former music partner, Ike Turner.

In the documentary, Tina reflects: "It wasn’t a good life. The good did not balance the bad."

"I had an abusive life, there’s no other way to tell the story. It’s a reality. It’s a truth. That’s what you’ve got, so you have to accept it," she continued, as per The Mirror.

After the documentary aired, Tina's fans were calling for the superstar to have her own place in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, separate from Ike.

In response to angry fans, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame president Greg Harris told TMZ at the time that her listeners could make their opinions known through a public "fan" vote.

Fans could vote for the top 5 among the Class of 2021 nominees, which, along with Tina, includes Jay-Z, Mary J. Blige, Foo Fighters, and Carole King. The top vote-getter among those 5 will win the official "fan vote."

Despite Tina winning the fan vote, it didn't mean the 81-year-old would automatically get inducted, leaving fans anxious.

However, it was confirmed Wednesday morning that Tina would be among those inducted in the class of 2021 ceremony.

Amazing news!

In addition to Tina, Jay-Z, the Go-Go’s, Todd Rundgren, Carole King, and the Foo Fighters will all be invited to make the trip to Cleveland this October.

Both Tina and Carole are receiving their second inductions this year. Carole's previous induction goes back to 1990 as half of a duo, like Tina, when she was inducted along with former partner Gerry Goffin in the songwriting category.

Way to go, Tina!
