Pink Opened Up About The 'Unfair' Image She Was Given During Her Career

Don't let Pink's wrinkle-free face fool you — she's been in the music industry for a long time.

This means that she's seen and experienced a lot of things — both good and bad. This includes being pitted against other women in the music industry.

She recently opened up about this in a new interview and even gave names.

Singer Pink has long been a staple in the music industry.

The music icon got her start in the 2000s with her debut album, "Can't Take Me Home."

The album was a major success as it went multi-platinum and her single, "There You Go," was certified a gold single.

While a lot of singers eventually lose their 15 minutes of fame, Pink has managed to ramp up the momentum.

In addition to several other successful albums over the years, she also has 20 Grammy nominations.

Her latest album, "Hurts 2B Human," which was number one in the UK, came out in 2019.

Most recently, she has a new Amazon Prime Video documentary called *P!nk: All I Know So Far* coming out.

It offers viewers a rare behind-the-scenes look at when she toured the world in 2019 with her family.

She shares two children, Willow, 9, and son Jameson, 4, with her motocross racer husband Carey Hart.

They joined her on her Beautiful Trauma World Tour, which ended up being the second-highest grossing world tour of all time by a solo female artist.

"There's not a lot of women headlining stadiums and doing two nights at Wembley Stadium while having a family on the road," she told People.

"[Director Michael Gracey] had never seen a mom changing diapers while having a creative meeting, and just the way that this big life intersects with being a normal, crazy family — there's something fascinating about that."

In her documentary, viewers will see Pink struggle to balance family life with tour life.

"I'm always trying to figure out: 'Am I doing the right thing? Can a woman have it all? What does that even mean?'" she said.

"And the answer is no, most of the time you can't, and it feels like you're climbing Mount Everest," she continued. "But it's also so magical what I get to do and who I get to be in this life."

One way they get in family time is through dinner time.

"At least twice a week on tour, we shut the door to the outside world and have family dinner,” the singer posted on Instagram in 2019. It's a great way for them to feel connected!

As someone who's been in the industry for decades, Pink has also experienced tough times.

This unfortunately includes being pitted against other women in the industry.

In her interview with People, she talked about being pitted against Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera in the early days of her career.

"It was so unfair to all the girls," the 41-year-old said. "None of us wanted that."

She was even marketed as an "anti-Britney" figure in music, which is a title she never wanted. In fact, she loves her fellow pop star: "I love Britney — she used to carry around my album."

"I was like, 'Dude, I'm a street punk, I just skateboard. That doesn't have to be the anti-Britney. I don't want to fight anybody.'"

She continued on, sharing the best advice she heard on the subject:

"One of the best things that [music executive] L.A. Reid ever told me was that this music business is big enough for everybody to win at the same time."

"There's no such thing as competition," she said.

"I think we navigated through it as good as a 20-year-old girl can. Now I think it's totally different. Girls supporting girls is rad — I love to watch it."

Yass girl power!
