Breakups suck.
You probably already know that from the heartache and the pain of seeing your ex with someone new.
As elite as they are, celebs aren't immune to heartbreak. Theirs are even much worse. Did the world have a front-row seat to your ex breaking up with you via Twitter?

There's no love lost between the singer and her ex-husband, Russell Brand.
That's because the comedian ended their marriage in a text message (!!!). A breakup is one thing, but a divorce? Yikes. She eventually spoke about this in 2013.
She also revealed that she found out the "real truth" of why things ended.
"I can't necessarily disclose because I keep it locked in my safe for a rainy day."
The Little Mix's breakup from Zayn Malik was truly rough.
In addition to the former One Direction star ending their engagement via text, she was also left homeless.
"It was horrible, the worst time in my life," she wrote in the group's memoir.
After being in and out of each other's lives so much over the years, Selena and Justin Bieber two finally called it quits for good in 2015.
A lot of this had to do with Justin's cheating rumors.
Selena shared her thoughts to W magazine in February 2016.
"I'm so exhausted. I honestly am so done. I care about his health and well-being. But I can't do it anymore."
Imagine finding out that your boyfriend dumped you... on television.
This is what happened to the actress when, after a year of dating, Matt Damon went on Oprah and said that he was single. That's gotta hurt.
"It seemed like a good forum for him to announce to the world that we were no longer together, which I found fantastically inappropriate," she said.
She added that he had declared his love for her on David Letterman just a month earlier.
In case you don't know who she is, she's an actress, writer, and the daughter of Larry David.
She was also known for dating SNL's Pete Davidson. But that ended badly when Pete broke up with her via text and then started dating Ariana Grande the next day.
Fun fact: the Jurassic Park star was once engaged to Billy Bob Thorton.
Not-so-fun fact: “I left our home to work on a movie, and while I was away, my boyfriend got married, and I’ve never heard from him again," she told Talk magazine.
“It’s like a sudden death. For no one has there been any closure or clarity," Dern shared about their breakup.
After dating DJ Calvin Harris for several years, she found out that he had dumped her via Twitter.
She eventually spoke to Wonderland magazine about the breakup, saying how she wanted to "crawl in my bed and die."
Who could forget the Friends alum's infamous divorce from Brad Pitt? This happened after he fell in love with Angelina Jolie while filming Mr. And Mrs. Smith.

Julia Roberts didn't just play a runaway bride on-screen — she was one in 1991 when the actress abruptly called off her wedding to Sutherland.
That's not even the most dramatic part.
“When I get hold of Jason I am going to tear him limb from limb,” Sutherland was rumored to have said at the time via The Standard.
Years later, though, he was grateful for her ending things.
She and her ex, Future, clearly weren't on the same page.
During the time she got his name tattoed on her hand, he tweeted that he was "single and focusing on what makes me happy." She later had the tattoo covered up.
The rapper ended her engagement to Nick Young after she found out that he was cheating with other women in their house.

But given how bad this one was, we're going to go with Joe Jonas who broke up with her on the phone.
