Gwen Stefani And Blake Shelton's Marriage Proves Opposites Really Do Attract

As you most likely know by now, Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton recently tied the knot in a small ceremony in Oklahoma over the July 4th weekend.

While the pair have been together for almost 6 years, it still came as a surprise to many that these two actually said "I do!" because, well... they're so different.

However, Gwen and Blake are here to remind us it's important to always remember that opposites really do attract.

Gwen Stefani has been the princess of punk rock since the '90s.

I was a huge fan of No Doubt back in the day — her edgy outfits, catchy vocals, and ultimate cool-girl energy attracted millions of fans to the group for nearly 10 years.

In 2004, Gwen would begin her iconic solo career.

"Hollaback Girl" was one of the most recognizable songs of the decade, and sure, I wasn't crazy about it back then, but now, I can appreciate her efforts.

In more recent years, Gwen has been a judge on The Voice and released songs with her boyfriend turned hubby — Blake Shelton.

If you had told 25-year-old Gwen that she would be married to a country singer at the age of 51, I'm sure she would have laughed it off.

Blake Shelton is not who any of us would have imagined Gwen to end up with.

His plaid button-up shirts, cowboy boots, and chart-topping country music would make him the opposite of Gwen in every single way — but maybe that's why they're so perfect together.

Speaking to CMT back in 2016, Blake said Gwen had "saved his life" when he was going through his split from ex-wife Miranda Lambert.

As fans will recall, Blake announced his divorce from Miranda in July 2015. Meanwhile, Gwen filed for divorce from Gavin Rossdale just a few weeks later.

"It's not something anybody could've seen coming, besides God I guess, because it doesn't look like it would make sense," he said of their relationship at the time.

"All I can tell you is that it does. It just makes the most perfect sense for us and where we're at in our lives," he added.

Gwen has said similar sweet sentiments about her now-hubby, and how Blake helped her through her dramatic, public split from her ex.

"When you're going through a really tough time, there are people that come in your life, like a friend that can help you get through things, and he's definitely one of those people. That's it," she said at the time.

The saying "opposites attract" is a cliché for a reason — it's true! It seems Blake's easy going, sarcastic demeanour pairs well with Gwen's sassy, free-spirited personality.

Now, these two have become one loving couple and family, alongside Gwen's three sons.

We could not be more happy to see a genuine, Hollywood love story play out right in front of our very eyes!
