A Study Found That Women Over 50 Are A Lot Happier Than The Rest Of Us

There's a lot of negative stereotypes regarding women and their age. While men are said to become more distinguished, women are often labeled as old maids by the time they reach 40.

But thanks to new and recent studies, those opinions are beginning to shift. And it turns out that those relegated women over the age of 50 are actually a lot happier than the rest of us.

Many women experience what's known as a mid-life crisis in their late 30s.

Feeling dissatisfied with your life's decisions or lacking a clear sense of direction can often cause these feelings to rise to the surface.

This has led experts to posit that happiness for the average person flows in a U-shape.

We begin on a high as happy young adults, but slowly begin to sink into our own self-loathing.

These feelings can sometimes persist for decades on end. And new studies show that it's right around the age of 50 when most women start to once again regain their sense of joy.

At the age of 50, most women are free from the bondage of childrearing and are thriving in their careers.

It makes sense when you think about it: less stress and fewer disappointments lead to a happier, more meaningful existence.

They're able to rediscover themselves and fall in love with their passion all over again.

So for all the strong independent women with their golden years on the horizon — be excited.
