Kindergarten Teacher Encourages Parents To Tape Their Kids' Markers Together

We love a good teacher hack!

Lately, we've noticed teachers posting a lot of helpful hacks for young learners — like this crayon one! — and we're loving it.

One kindergarten teacher shared why she does something pretty unusual with her students' markers — and after seeing it, I totally understand why Theresa Besenhofer duct tapes markers together.

Theresa posted a TikTok explaining why she tapes her kids' markers together.

"You tape the markers together, and then I put a piece of tape on top to cover the lids," she explained in her now-viral Tiktok.

(And I mean viral — it has over 3-million views!)

She writes the names on the tape.

"This year, I'm writing names on them, because kids would inevitably lose their markers, and no one would want to claim them. So now we'll know whose it is."

Some didn't understand it at first.

The point isn't that the markers get lost, the point is that the lids get lost. They're easily discardable! This will save teachers a lot of headaches — and dried-out markers.

Other teachers loved the trick.

One even noted this will stop kids from snapping all the markers together, which I object to. That sounds fun as heck for a little kindergartener!
