Grandma's Tea Towel Trick Solves An Annoying Dishwasher Problem

If you are one of those people with a dishwasher, you should consider yourself lucky. I have to admit I've never actually owned one.

Some of us just wash our dishes by hand. I know that's pretty old-school, ha, ha! But who wants to dry all those dishes anyway? Well, now you don't have to because this clever grandma has the perfect hack for you.

Check this out.

Babs aka Nonna, who goes by the TikTok handle @brunchwithbabs, has got you covered when it comes to #LifeHacks. This time she's sharing one that has to do with the dishwasher. So listen up because grandmas do know it all, ha, ha!

Since I don't use the dishwasher, this isn't one of my problems.

But if you do, you must run into this issue all the time. After the dishes get cleaned, they're all pretty much wet. Aren't they? So do you just dry them all by hand?

Ah, don't worry about that.

You won't have to do it anymore, thanks to this grandma. She has a hack for you that I think you're going to like. She actually hangs a dishrag on the door of the dishwasher.

Then, just close the door.

Apparently, you're supposed to do this at the end of the cleaning cycle. After you close the door, wait five minutes and voilĂ ! The dishes are no longer wet.

How about that, huh? I would never have thought of doing that.

I guess this has something to do with the rag absorbing the moisture.

When it does that, the dishes will be able to dry inside the dishwasher. It does make sense to me, but since I don't have a dishwasher, I've never tried it myself.

People on TikTok were equally intrigued by the idea.

Some even joked saying, that they thought everybody just put the wet dishes away without drying them first. Yeah, like that's a great idea. I don't think so, ha, ha! That would make such a mess.

Other people questioned the efficiency of this idea and whether it would actually work.

I get their point. But unless you try it yourself, you would never know. Am I right? So what's stopping you? It doesn't seem that complicated to me.

This lady, in particular, complained that to do this, she would need to watch the timer.

And who's got the time for that? Ha, ha! I hear her loud and clear. As busy as I am, I wouldn't even have the time to load the dishwasher.

So let me ask you: have you tried this dishwashing hack before?

Did it work? Or do you have another way of doing it, so you don't have to dry the dishes after the cycle has finished? I would love to know.
